Following three Olympic disappointments, 30-year-old Aljona Savchenko aims for gold with a new partner in four years. Her ambitious plan pairs her with young French skater Bruno Massot, who lacks international experience in pairs figure skating. He moves to Germany, unaware of the intense perfectionism he’s about to face. Training proves difficult, marked by constant disagreements that threaten to derail the project. Despite their contrasting personalities, a team of trainers helps them find common ground. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, a critical error in the short program leaves them far behind. They must then deliver a memorable free skate performance to inspire the world.
