The Black Book

In the streets of Lagos, an armed gang abducts Professor Craig and his infant. His wife resigns from her anti‑corruption agency job following the gang's orders, and soon Craig and his child are killed. The kidnapping sets off a deadly cycle of revenge and cover-ups that drive the rest of the plot.

To hide their crime, the plotters pin the kidnapping on Damilola Edima, son of Paul Edima. Corrupt police later kill Damilola and present him as the mastermind behind the kidnapping, framing an innocent teenager for the violence.

Aspiring journalist Vic Kalu tries to help Paul Edima uncover the truth behind his son's death. Paul initially resists help, then takes matters into his own hands by abducting and torturing the suspects and recording their confessions on camera.

Kalu shows the video to her boss, who destroys the SD card, arguing that the case is too sensitive to pursue. The destruction thwarts an early pursuit of the truth and protects powerful interests.

The gang kills several police officers and pressures authorities to accuse Edima, who is declared a public enemy. The legal system becomes a tool for the gang to avoid accountability while pressuring Edima into submission.

General Issa sends men to kill Paul Edima, but Edima fights back and defeats the attackers. Refusing Issa's money for the loss of his son, Edima declares open war between them and escalates the vendetta.

In a church where Vic Kalu was raised, Edima confesses that he was formerly part of Issa's drug gang and has since turned to serving God as a deacon. He also reveals that he was the hitman who killed Kalu's mother, an investigative journalist.

Armed men storm the church and abduct Vic Kalu, while Edima manages to escape the shooting. The assault deepens the personal stakes for both men and intensifies the pursuit of justice.

Paul Edima seeks help from Big Daddy, a powerful businesswoman who commands a private army of female soldiers. They formulate a plan to storm the gang's headquarters and liberate Vic Kalu.

Big Daddy's forces infiltrate the gang complex, killing many gang members and seizing a case from the safe. Edima reveals his past to Kalu and learns that Issa will release them in exchange for the black book that records all operations; the exchange is negotiated to allow them to go free.

Big Daddy releases a video showing the gang killing four army officers to cover up illegal mining. The leak triggers a full military invasion of the gang's headquarters, causing many members to flee in panic.

Issa is confronted by Edima and arrested, while Vic Kalu retrieves the case and discovers the black book. Edima buries his son and asks Kalu to reveal the full story to the press, leading to arrests of many top personalities tied to the gang.
