Thallumaala unfolds out of chronological order, telling its story through nine distinct chapters that jump between timelines and never quite settle on a single moment until the final chapter brings everything into focus. The film paints a vivid, winding picture of friendships, rivalries, love, and the chaotic energy of youth, all threaded through a shared city’s pulse and a string of escalating conflicts.

Wazim Wazim meets his early circle of friends — Jamshi, Vikas and Rajesh — after a clash in a Masjid over a shoe incident that seeds a bond among them. What begins as a single shouting match quickly evolves into a steadfast camaraderie as they navigate highs and lows together, the lines between loyalty and trouble often blurring in the heat of the moment. The trio’s dynamic expands when Wazim, Jamshi, and Wazim’s old friend Sathaar head to a football match, only for it to be disrupted by a spat between Vikas and Rajesh. This skirmish pulls more people into the orbit of their friendship, testing loyalties and cementing unspoken codes among the circle.

Wazim’s world deepens when he meets Beepathu, a sharp-witted vlogger, at a theatre owned by his father Abdullah. Beepathu, an energetic observer of life and its absurdities, draws Wazim into a new circle of shared moments and plans. The pair strike a fast friendship, and Beepathu invites Wazim to a shop inauguration, which he cannot attend because of the earlier frictions among the friends. As Beepathu and Wazim grow closer, they also confront tensions from other quarters, including Omega Babu, Omega Babu, an arrogant goon who represents an older, more dangerous kind of rivalry. The attempt to settle old scores for Jamshi hits a snag when Wazim slaps Siyad, Beepathu’s cousin brother, complicating loyalties and fueling a fresh cycle of conflict.

Sathar steps in again by bringing Beepathu to Wazim’s theatre to watch Vikram Vedha, but Siyad and his gang intervene, triggering another clash and the theatre’s destruction. Abdullah responds by sending Wazim away to Dubai, creating a long separation that tests everyone’s patience and dedication. Two years pass, and Wazim returns home with Beepathu still in his thoughts. The two rekindle their relationship, fall in love anew, and decide to marry, defying the past’s damage and the noise of their surroundings.

A new storm brews when Wazim’s friends are drawn into a confrontation with SI Reji and his gang, leaving them battered and humiliated. Reji attempts to patch things up, but the wedding chaos erupts, ending the ceremony and sending Wazim spiraling into the persona of an infamous internet celebrity called Manavaalan. This turn of notoriety forces a restless, restless energy back into his life, and he is sent back to Dubai once again.

Six months later, Wazim returns to learn that Beepathu is engaged to someone else. Reji reappears, seeking closure, and a brutal hand-to-hand fight ensues, ending with Reji’s victory and a surprising decision to reunite Wazim and Beepathu. The pair head back toward Dubai to reunite Beepathu with her life and to avert the impending engagement, hoping to salvage what they once shared. When they arrive at the marriage venue, Omega Babu arrives once more, triggering another clash between Wazim’s gang and Omega Babu to settle Jamshi’s old score. Beepathu witnesses the chaos and slips away, and after the dust settles, Wazim chases after her, calling out with a deep, hopeful plea to stop and reconsider their path together. The film closes on their struggle between impulse and connection, between a life lived loud and a future they might still share together.
