Thammudu

Subramanyam aka Subbu aka Subhash (Pawan Kalyan) is the youngest son in a bustling family. He leads a carefree, restless life, drifting through days with girls, hanging out with friends, and routinely flunking exams. His attitude toward his father, Viswanadh, a cafe owner, is marked by disdain and friction, setting a stubborn wedge between them. Subbu’s elder brother, Chakri (Achyuth), stands in sharp contrast—an ardent, college-level kickboxer who is Viswanadh’s favorite. Chakri dedicates himself to training for the inter-college kickboxing championship, pushing his body and spirit to the limit, only to face defeat against Rohit, a rival from the elite Model College. Their clashes underscore a clash of worlds: Chakri’s government college background versus Rohit’s elite upbringing, intensifying the sense of pride and pressure inside the family.

Jaanu (Preeti Jhangiani) is Subbu’s neighbor and secretly in love with him, though Subbu remains oblivious to her feelings. He treats Jaanu more as a source of money and cars to impress others, often borrowing from her without considering the consequences. Jaanu’s father runs a garage, a detail that grounds her in a practical, grounded world while Subbu’s desires pull him toward a flashier image. Then Subbu encounters Lovely (Aditi Gowitrikar), a wealthy girl from the prestigious Model College. Subbu weaves a tale of privilege—claiming he attends the elite Engineering College and hails from a wealthy family. Lovely falls for the lie, and soon she expresses her love, only to uncover the truth and face Subbu’s deception. She publicly insults him in front of Viswanadh and Chakri, adding a painful sting to Subbu’s already fragile position. The revelation shatters his illusion and strains the family’s trust even further when Viswanadh learns that Subbu has also taken substantial money from Jaanu. Fatigue and embarrassment push Subbu out of the home, leaving him homeless and isolated.

On the street, Subbu finds tough love and support from Jaanu, who urges him to grow up and prove himself worthy of his family’s respect. Her faith becomes a catalyst for Subbu’s personal reform, sparking a realization of how love and responsibility can coexist with ambition. As Subbu begins to reshape his life, Chakri’s health crisis deepens the stakes: Chakri is attacked and seriously injured by Rohit, who has become Lovely’s new boyfriend and a renewed threat to Subbu. The attack hospitalizes Chakri and bars him from the championship final, intensifying Subbu’s motivation to redeem himself not just in the eyes of his family but for the sake of his brother.

Motivated by family honor and a desire to rectify his past mistakes, Subbu embraces a disciplined training regime. He pushes through physical and emotional barriers, channeling his frustrations into methodical practice and steady progress. The rivalry with Rohit spirals toward a climactic showdown that Subbu refuses to back away from, and he fights with renewed focus and resolve. In a decisive victory, Subbu defeats Rohit in the kickboxing match, claiming the final inter-college championship and dedicating the trophy to Chakri—an act that signals his return to the family fold and the restoration of his own sense of purpose.

The triumph marks a turning point: Subbu earns Viswanadh’s respect, re-establishes his standing within the family, and, after a long arc of growth and reconciliation, accepts Jaanu’s love. The story unfolds as a journey from heedless youth to a more mature, responsible man who recognizes the value of loyalty, family, and honest affection, all braided together with the thrill and discipline of sport.
