In a dramatic turn, Jo realizes Soo-yeon is the killer and discovers limbs from multiple bodies sewn together inside a tall aquarium in her living room. He breaks the glass, the water knocks him down, and he is left in a vulnerable, Ophelia-like pose.

Soo-yeon's plane departs for Paris after a chilling farewell to Jo, suggesting she will begin a new life abroad. The escape marks the end of Jo's pursuit and leaves her fate open to interpretation.

On the plane, Soo-yeon tells the man next to her that it is her first time in Paris, contradicting her earlier claim of having studied there. The inconsistency adds a final unsettling note to her enigmatic character.
