Raghav Shastri, a Mumbai cab driver, maintains a lie about his job, telling Sunita he works as an insurance salesman. The deception is meant to hide his real status and finances from his wife. This false front sets the tone for the marital strain and the later conflicts over money and honesty.

Jai Mittal, the son of a late businessman, hires a ride from Raghav as he fights for ownership of the estate. After a chaotic accident, Jai escapes and discovers the key to the vault containing his father's will is missing and ended up in the back of Raghav's taxi.

Raghav decides to keep the key hidden from Jai, starting a tense game of hide-and-seek over the vault and its precious contents.

Jai goes to Raghav's home to search for the key and, during the visit, reveals to Sunita what he believes Raghav does for a living. Sunita is shocked by the truth and decides to leave Jai, taking their son with her.

Raghav, furious at the revelation, vows to destroy Jai in the fight over the estate. He then targets Rupali, Jai's girlfriend, intent on weakening Jai through her.

Raghav chases Rupali and Jai intervenes to save her. Rupali escapes, and Jai confronts Raghav in a brutal car fight that ends with both surviving.

Jai returns home after a second court hearing about his father's estate and discovers the will is torn to pieces and pasted on the wall of his apartment. The sight deepens his sense of loss and confusion.

With the estate battle unresolved, Jai becomes depressed and isolated as his friends drift away and Rupali ends their relationship, highlighting the hollowness of wealth without meaning.

Raghav is arrested and taken to the police station, where Sunita confronts him and calls out his failing character. The confrontation plants the seed for a personal transformation.

Jai bails Raghav out of jail and the two share a drink at Jai's house. They discover they share the same birthday, a small moment of connection amid their animosity, hinting at a possible truce.

Raghav reveals that the real will is hidden in the sofa and that the torn will on the wall was a fake. He returns the actual document, clearing the confusion over the estate.

Raghav hurries to the railway station to stop Sunita and his son from leaving, but arrives too late. He returns home to find a birthday cake and the family waiting, brought back by Jai's intervention.

Jai confronts Arjun Bajaj, the custodian of his father's property, and declares that he values life over wealth. Bajaj confirms that the inheritance has always been Jai's, and the two share a heartfelt embrace.

As Jai moves forward, his fate intersects with a new romance when his car collides with a woman played by Priyanka Chopra. He apologizes and asks for her number; they exchange smiles and drive off toward a hopeful future.
