Jimmy Cliff, portrayed by Saif Ali Khan, is an industrious call center executive who also teaches English. One day, Pooja Singh, played by Kareena Kapoor, arrives at his class seeking private tutoring. Captivated by her charm, Jimmy readily agrees. However, he soon discovers that it’s Pooja’s boss, the notorious Lakhan Singh Ballebaaz, known as Bhaiyyaji, who actually needs the tutoring. As their romance blossoms, Pooja confides in Jimmy about her employment with Bhaiyyaji, revealing that she is working to repay her debts before heading to Haridwar to scatter her father’s ashes. Pooja’s predicament intensifies when she learns that Bhaiyyaji has proposed marriage in return for absolving her debts, and when she protests, he resorts to verbal abuse, a scene Jimmy witnesses firsthand.

Determined to escape Bhaiyyaji’s grasp, Jimmy and Pooja devise a plan to steal his money. Their heist goes off without a hitch, but when Jimmy leaves to inform his employer of his departure, Pooja takes the opportunity to guard their stolen cash. At the call center, Jimmy uncovers Bhaiyyaji’s dark reputation as a ruthless gangster with a penchant for violence, prompting him to rush home and warn Pooja. To his shock, he finds she has vanished with the money, meeting a bank manager to secure it in a locker. After a comical negotiation, he relents and assists her.

Bhaiyyaji is not one to be trifled with; he enlists the help of Bachchan Pandey, a gangster played by Akshay Kumar, to track down Jimmy. Bachchan idolizes Bhaiyyaji, who once ruled as the original don in Kanpur, and aspires to join his ranks. The backstory reveals Bhaiyyaji’s tough past, noting he used to be a rickshaw driver for the Kanpur don, Vikram Tiger, before that fateful day when he witnessed Tiger’s murder, resulting in his acquisition of gold bars.

When Jimmy surrenders to Bhaiyyaji, he reveals Pooja’s escape with the money and her intent to scatter her father’s ashes in Haridwar. With Bachchan’s help, the duo rushes to find her. Upon arrival, Pooja catches sight of them and flees. Their chaotic pursuit leads to an unexpected mishap, where they end up in the water, unveiling that Pooja had been hiding in their trunk all along. She discloses her clever strategy: she has hidden the money in seven secret locations across India.

Calculating their next move, Jimmy and Pooja decide that she should use her charm to distract Bachchan just as she did with Jimmy. As she attempts to seduce him, they are surprised to uncover their shared childhood affection. After reuniting with the scattered money, Bhaiyyaji assigns Bachchan the grim task of eliminating Jimmy and capturing Pooja for marriage. However, Bachchan’s loyalty to his newfound friends inhibits him from fulfilling Bhaiyyaji’s orders.

In a surprising twist, Bachchan leaves with the money under the impression of helping Jimmy and Pooja escape, while Jimmy has stealthily swapped the cash for stones, unaware of the budding love between Pooja and Bachchan. When Pooja learns of this deception, she reveals the painful truth: Bhaiyyaji was responsible for her father’s murder, making him the very villain they need to confront.

Together, Jimmy and Pooja soldier into the lion’s den at Bhaiyyaji’s hideout, armed with their wits and bravery. Under the guise of betrayal, Jimmy gains Bhaiyyaji’s trust and commandeers his weapon. The ensuing chaos provides a dramatic showdown, culminating in Pooja avenging her father by fatally stabbing Bhaiyyaji.

In the conclusion of this thrilling saga, Jimmy sets up a call center exclusively for women, while Bachchan and Pooja embrace their love and tie the knot, marking the end of their tumultuous journey.
