Tallulah

Tallulah and Nico survive by stealing credit cards and living in a rundown van as they travel across America. They move from town to town, using the stolen funds to stay afloat.

Nico decides it's time to go home to his mother. Tallulah argues that she won't change her lifestyle, and the next morning she discovers Nico has left without saying goodbye.

Desperate to be with him again, Tallulah drives to New York City to find Nico's mother, Margo. Margo reveals that Nico hasn't been seen in two years and is not with her.

Margo tells Tallulah to leave and offers no assistance. With nowhere to go, Tallulah steals from guests at a nearby hotel to survive.

Carolyn, intoxicated, mistakes Tallulah for housekeeping and leaves her toddler, Maddy, under Tallulah's watch while she goes on a date. Tallulah begins forming a bond with the child.

Tallulah bathes Maddy and plays games, forming a tender bond with the frightened child. Carolyn returns home drunk and distraught that her date didn't want her.

When Carolyn passes out, Tallulah impulsively takes a crying Maddy back to her van to spend the night. She resolves to protect the child for now.

Tallulah flees back to Margo's apartment with Maddy, claiming the girl is Nico's granddaughter. Margo reluctantly agrees to let them stay for one night.

Margo's ex-husband Stephen has left her for a man named Andreas, and she is struggling with filing for divorce. Tallulah and Maddy begin to form a fragile family bond as they stay together.

During a lunch with Stephen and Andreas, Margo defends Tallulah against their questions about her relationships and her past. The moment highlights the deceit and changes in Margo's life.

On the way back to Margo's, Tallulah and Carolyn spot one another; Tallulah narrowly escapes with Maddy and Margo via the subway.

Nico arrives back in New York City to reunite with his mother. He takes Maddy to the hospital and begins devising a plan to help Tallulah escape.

At the hospital, Nico and Tallulah work on a plan to help Tallulah escape, while Carolyn and the police close in. The situation intensifies as investigators connect Tallulah to Maddy's abduction.

Police arrive at the hospital after a tip and Tallulah is arrested. Margo promises to help her however she can, and Carolyn begins to face the consequences of her choices.

Some time later, Margo wanders through Central Park recalling her conversation with Tallulah about letting go. She starts floating away, but is frightened and grabs a tree branch.
