Dominik is depicted as a popular but spoiled teenager attending a prestigious private high school, where his affluent background affords him privileges that sometimes distance him from genuine peer interactions. Despite his popularity, he faces challenges that highlight the fragile nature of his mental state. During school hours, his friends stumble upon a disturbing video of self-harm on his computer — an incident that is initially brushed aside but later becomes a pivotal element in his emotional journey. Later, Dominik himself views the video and leaves a comment, hinting at underlying struggles.

At an after-prom gathering, the social scene takes a provocative turn. A girl, who confesses to having experimented with lesbianism, demonstrates her experiences to a group of friends, including Dominik. The situation escalates when she asks Dominik to kiss a boy named Aleksander, played by an actor noted for his role. Dominik complies without hesitation, and a video of this kiss is uploaded to social media, sparking teasing and teasing from his classmates in the days that follow. The peer pressure intensifies when Dominik begins to flirt with Aleksander, exchanging longing looks that are captured and spread online.

The tension escalates during a judo practice where Dominik and Aleksander are sparring. In an intense moment, Dominik is pinned beneath Aleksander during their fight, and in a surprising turn, Dominik experiences a heightened sexual excitement to the point of ejaculation — an event quickly shared on social media, further complicating his emotional state. This series of events propels Dominik into a deeper crisis, compounded by his earlier online comment about self-harm, which leads to an invitation to join an immersive 3D social network called Sala Samobójców (The Suicide Room).

Within this virtual space, Dominik encounters Sylwia, a masked girl who is visibly distressed and appears to be suicidal. She is portrayed by an actor whose character develops a complex bond with Dominik. Sylwia, who wears a mask and cuts herself, introduces Dominik to a disturbing group watch where members view footage of people ending their lives, emphasizing themes of despair and hopelessness. As their connection deepens, Dominik begins skipping school and spends increasingly more time online, isolating himself from his real family and friends. His emotional state deteriorates further when he begins to refuse food and becomes engrossed in conversations with Sylwia.

His withdrawal culminates in a dramatic incident where his parents, unaware of his worsening condition, find him in a pool of blood beside a broken mirror after they call the police. He is hospitalized briefly for psychiatric evaluation but returns home with dismissive attitudes from his parents, who see little wrong with his behavior and prioritize his final exams over his mental health. The virtual community of Sala Samobójców continues to influence him, especially as Sylwia openly discusses her desire to die. She shares a love story ending tragically with her killing herself using pills and alcohol, prompting her to ask Dominik for help in acquiring medication.

Dominik’s parents, concerned but ineffectual, seek a psychiatrist, but their attempts to help are thwarted by Sylwia’s manipulation, feeding Dominik answers to obtain pills from a doctor. Despite his pleas for her to reconsider, Dominik is ultimately pushed towards despair as the family’s efforts to intervene are sabotaged—his father even rips out the internet router in a moment of conflict. Dominik, overwhelmed, shares his knowledge about The Suicide Room, revealing that the members have become his new, twisted family.

In a heartbreaking sequence, Dominik takes pills he’s procured from the doctor and heads to a bar where Sylwia awaits. The scene is surreal: the bartender encourages him to order something, and Dominik ends up drinking heavily. In a moment of clarity amid his intoxication, he begins to throw the pills into the toilet, trying to undo his decision. As his consciousness fades, he starts filming a kissing couple, mocking his own plight and his father’s influence. When he finally reunites with Sylwia on the dance floor, the first genuine moment of happiness in the film emerges — a tender, passionate kiss symbolizing his fleeting escape from despair.

However, the story takes a tragic turn. Later scenes reveal that the The Suicide Room members discuss Dominik’s absence, and a shocking revelation follows: the footage of Dominik’s last moments was actually recorded by his own mother, who used his account to support him. Her heartfelt message acknowledges his passing, which was the result of an overdose—an outcome that shades the entire narrative with profound sadness. Sylwia, devastated, rips out her internet cord and ventures outside her apartment building after three years of seclusion, crying and screaming at the sky, illustrating her own journey through despair.

The film closes with a stark and poignant image: Dominik’s parents sitting separately at a ballet, symbolizing their fractured relationship. Interwoven with this are the footage of the drunken couple’s last video of Dominik, which ultimately appeared on The Suicide Room. The narrative leaves viewers with the haunting realization that Dominik’s cry for help was both through his digital world and his real-life suffering, culminating in a tragic but compelling reflection on mental health, social media, and the devastating effects of emotional neglect and isolation.
