In a village torn by a long-standing feud between two neighboring families—the Hindu Seetaramayya and the Christian Stephen—their worlds collide in every corner of life, from disputes between the adults to friction among the younger generation. The rift stretches from Seetaramayya’s wife and son to Stephen’s wife and son, Balaramaiah and Moses, who, twenty-five years earlier, shared a friendship that once held the families together. The past romance of Janaki, Seetaramayya’s daughter, and Robert, Stephen’s younger son, ends in elopement and marriage against the wishes of their clans, sowing the seeds of an enduring divide that the present cannot easily mend.
Today, Chandu—the son of Janaki and Robert—arrives in the midst of this hostility with his friend, Gopi. Both families reject him outright, forcing him to seek shelter with Nadabrahmam, a loud, mercurial singer whose chaotic energy becomes a strange sanctuary. Chandu’s mission is clear: to bridge the chasm between the feuding households and win their trust, not just for himself but for the possibility of peace.
On the advice of Gopi, Chandu fabricates a tale about having already married a Hindu-Christian woman named Nirmala Mary. To his shock, a woman who claims to be Nirmala Mary arrives, but she mocks him and reveals a startling truth: she is actually Priyadarshini, the real daughter of Janaki and Robert. The revelation unsettles the delicate web Chandu has woven and shifts the balance of loyalties within the families.
Flashback unfolds to depict Chandu and Gopi, two orphans living near a ladies’ hostel where Nandini resides. Nandini and the other girls are preparing for a music competition but struggle to craft a tune that resonates. Chandu quietly helps them, and their eventual victory marks a turning point in his relationship with Nandini. He grows fond of her, yet just as he is about to declare his love, Nandini introduces [Lawrence], Moses’s son, as her fiancé, leaving him heartbroken. Lawrence and Nandini ask Chandu to bless their marriage without revealing it to their families, and he agrees, choosing to believe that love can heal old wounds if given a chance. This decision plants the seed for Chandu’s overarching plan—to heal the rift by putting love above religious divides.
Back in the present, the two elder men—Balaramaiah and Moses—discover their children’s secret relationship and react with anger. Chandu steps forward to defend them, even at the risk of his own safety, showing a courage that begins to soften the hardened hearts around him. As the families witness the resilience of the young lovers, the idea of love transcending religion gains traction, though it remains a fragile possibility.
The tension escalates when [Lawrence] and Nandini openly express their desire to marry, defying the historical enmity and demanding a future where love would guide their choices. This bold act prompts Seetaramayya and Stephen to reassess their stance, realizing that faith and tradition must not extinguish the human need to be with the person one loves. The feud that once defined every family decision begins to loosen its grip, and the old men start to see the possibility of unity through shared affection and mutual respect.
The culmination arrives as the families come together, and the truth about Chandu’s identity—woven through the arrival of Robert and Janaki—is finally revealed. A sense of reconciliation looms, and Chandu is offered the chance to marry Nirmala Mary—who is Priyadarshini—yet he declines, explaining that his heart has already chosen someone else and that those memories will endure forever. The film closes on a note of quiet resolve, with Chandu walking away, carrying a guiding belief about the power of love to unite rather than divide.
