Sri Ramadasu

The story opens with Sage Bhadra's intense penance in Kali Yuga. Vishnu manifests as Rama in accordance with the Rama oath of Treta Yuga. Rama descends to earth and sits Sita on his lap with Lakshmana at his side, signaling the mythic beginning of Rama's saga.

Centuries later, Dhammakka, a devout servant, locates the idols buried under an anthill at Bhadrachalam. She devotes herself to guarding the sacred site and prays fervently for an advent to build a temple. Her steadfast devotion plants the seed for Ramadasu's temple legacy.

In Nelakondapalli, Kancherla Gopanna falls in love with his cousin Kamala. On Kamala's birthday, he gifts a parrot in good faith, but Kamala's father Agnihotraavadhanlu disapproves due to Gopanna's status and wealth. Astrologers warn that a marriage with Kamala could lead to imprisonment for the couple.

Gopanna's maternal uncles Madanna and Akkanna escort him into the empire and secure his credence. He is appointed as Tehsildar of Bhadrachalam, effectively ending Matte Saiheb's influence. This victory marks a turning point in his fortunes.

As Tehsildar, Gopanna fights against crimes and tyrannies, meriting the enmity of adversaries like Matte Saiheb. The blackguards scheme against him, but Dhammakka stands as his shield and protector. Gopanna endures threats while remaining steadfast in his duties.

Revived by Rama's influence, Gopanna embraces Rama devotion and anticipates a grand accomplishment. Rama returns from Vaikuntha in the form of a vision near Parnasala, signaling the divine mandate to build a temple. Gopanna’s faith crystallizes around Rama’s mission.

Gopanna pledges to construct a temple for Rama and relinquishes his comfortable life. He and Kamala, who is pregnant, choose to live under a tree while the temple rises, embodying their deep devotion and sacrifice.

Gopanna amasses resources and forgoes Tanisha's taxes, moving the temple project forward. Kabirdas arrives, praising Rama and teaching the Rama Taraka Mantram, reinforcing the spiritual foundation of Gopanna's mission.

Years pass and the temple is completed, an event that culminates in Rama blessing Gopanna with a son, Raghunatha. Kabir attends the temple inauguration, while orthodox Brahmins resist his presence. Ramadasu’s reputation as a Rama devotee grows.

Tragedy strikes when Raghunatha dies after falling into a well, prompting Anjaneya (Hanuman) in Panchmukhi form to revive him under Rama’s mandate. This miracle deepens the public sense of Ramadasu’s sanctity and Rama’s presence at the temple.

Anjaneya proclaims Rama's glory within the temple precincts, and the devotee is publicly hailed as Sri Ramadasu. The temple community recognizes the Lord’s ordainment in Ramadasu’s life and mission.

Ramadasu is accused of misusing state funds and is imprisoned. Kabir reveals the truth, and Rama and Lakshmana appear to clear the debt. Tanisha pardons him, but Rama’s ultimate grace comes as Ramadasu’s soul is blessed by the Lord at the temple.
