From a small village in Ayodhya, Hathiram Bhavaji is drawn to the divine path from childhood after meeting the sage Simhachalam, who plays a dice game with him and urges meditation as a way to seek the ultimate truth. After fifteen years, the celestial presence of Lord Venkateswara appears as a child, briefly disturbing Rama’s quiet devotion when Rama begs Him to depart. Rama then returns home, where his parents arrange a marriage with his cousin Bhavani, yet a dream-guided nudge from his mentor convinces him that the moment to encounter the divine has arrived. He rushes home to Tirumala, where the devoted Krishnamma believes herself to be the wife of the Lord and dedicates her life to his service; and the temple administrator, Govindarajulu, manages the temple with a harsh hand, siphoning funds and keeping workers in subservience.

When Rama seeks the Lord by calling out Balaji, he is barred from entering the temple and must endure days outside, with guards attacking him until a temple elephant comes to his defense. Krishnamma’s guidance introduces Rama to the temple’s lore, the Sthala Puranam, and stirs him to imagine a new Tirumala: a hilltop Ashram where he tends a garden, starts a cowshed, and offers milk products to the temple. Govindarajulu presses his rival, Raja Giridhara Raaya, against Rama, yet the new administrator sees through Rama’s integrity and elevates him to temple authority, while demoting Govindarajulu to a humble sweeper. Rama reshapes worship with fresh rituals and services—Poojas, Seva, the Navaneetha Aarti, and a daily Nitya Kalyanam for the God—creating a devout, pilgrim-friendly atmosphere that draws people to the hill. The divine guest who visits daily is welcomed with reverence, and the story of the Lord’s dice becoming a shared, intimate ritual deepens the bond between Rama and the deity.

As the legend unfolds, the Lord’s ring is lost and later recovered, Lakshmi withdraws in anger and later returns, and a tantrik is vanquished when Lakshmi takes a fierce Chamunda form to defend Rama. The next morning, when the temple doors are opened, the main idol’s jewelry is found missing and then mysteriously reappears in Rama’s Ashram, prompting a tense inquiry by [Raja Giridhara Raaya]. Rama insists the jewelry was given by the Lord, but the King tests his faith by locking him in a sugarcane prison and demanding that he eat every stalk before dawn or face death. The test reaches a miraculous end when the Lord manifests as an elephant to seal Rama’s fate, and the jewelry’s return confirms the divine provenance of Rama’s claim. The public proclaims Rama as Hathiram Bhavaji, and pilgrims begin to visit him as a living bridge to the god.

Unable to leave Tirumala, Rama is followed by the Lord, who swears he will not let him depart and offers Sajeeva Samadhi atop the hill as a vow fulfilled. The divine equilibrium is tested as Lakshmi and Bhudevi—the latter often represented as Bhoodevi—condemn the Lord’s decision, but the tale closes with the vow that Hathiram Bhavaji’s service to the temple will be eternal. In a brief cameo, Jagapati Babu appears as A King, adding another layer to the tapestry of devotion and consequence. The film ultimately presents Hathiram Bhavaji’s immortality as a living, day-to-day dedication at Tirumala, a testament to unwavering faith, service, and the transformative power of prayer.
