Splitting Adam

Adam juggles multiple summer jobs at a local water park and a P.E.E. patrol gig while dealing with Vance's taunts and a crush on lifeguard Lori. He struggles to keep up with the pressure and the embarrassment of failing his lifeguard test. The setup establishes his ordinary life before the clone chaos erupts.

Adam's parents leave for a week and their Uncle Mitch, a struggling magician, shows up with a malfunctioning tanning bed in his van. He treats it as a prop for his act, unaware of the device's hidden secret. The tanning bed will soon reveal itself as a cloning machine.

One night Gillian spooks him and he triggers the tanning bed, getting trapped inside. He emerges dazed, and the next morning he discovers a clone sleeping in his bed. The event marks the accidental birth of the first copy.

Adam explains to Sheldon and Danny that the tanning bed can copy people, creating Adam #2. They debate how to handle the new talent and test the limits of their growing doppelgänger network. Gillian and Mitch remain unaware of the duplicate in their house.

In a meeting, Sheldon tricks Adam into volunteering to help Lori organize a fundraiser for Crash n' Splash. Separately, Danny and Adam #2 create Winston, a clone designed to take on chores with reduced intelligence. The idea hints at the coming overload of clones.

The group realizes clones can embody different traits and creates Party Boy, a loud party-loving version, and Sensitive, a kind poet. They begin dividing Adam's responsibilities among the five Adams, escalating the complexity of their life.

Party Boy attends Lori’s brother's birthday party and pushes flirtation too far, ending with Lori's cake being smashed into her face. The stunt undercuts Adam's image and complicates his chances with Lori.

Sensitive meets Lori at Crash n' Splash and performs a synchronized swimming display that earns her attention. Unfortunately, his cooking later gives Lori food poisoning, creating a setback for Adam's plan to win her heart.

The clones trap Vance in a dumpster to remove him from Lori's orbit, but he soon breaks out and remains an obstacle. The incident heightens tensions and foreshadows the climactic showdown.

Inspired by Lori's interactions with Vance and the earlier clones, Adam creates a perfect clone based on Vance's personality. Perfect saves a drowning woman and earns a lifeguard promotion, signaling a new edge in Adam's pursuit of Lori.

Perfect goes on a date with Lori at a fancy restaurant while Adam struggles to act cool. He finally confesses that he's been trying to impress her with clones, risking their trust. They later return to Crash n' Splash, where their connection hangs in the balance.

Perfect goes rogue, rallies Winston, Party Boy, and Sensitive to drive Vance away, triggering a power struggle that even gets Sheldon fired. Mitch returns with a plan to stage a show that could save Crash n' Splash while the clones' interference spirals.

The Adams discover the tanning bed was designed as a cloning machine created in a lab, and the clones share pain with the original. Perfect destroys the machine and carries off the duplex ignitor core, setting off a frantic scramble to prevent catastrophe.

Mitch uses a magic show to bring the five Adams to the stage, winning the crowd and generating enough funds to save Crash n' Splash. The performance features Winston, Party Boy, and Sensitive and dramatically boosts morale and support for the park.

Lori confronts Perfect atop a waterslide as Adam battles to stop him. She hurls the ignitor to teammates at the bottom, who trigger a device that dissipates the clones as the slide speeds them away. One by one, the Adams fade back into a single version, and the park is saved.
