Space Ninjas

Five misfit teenagers spend a Saturday evening in detention as a stylized, television-style mystery unfolds around them. On screen, a flashy sci‑fi show called Stranger Than Fiction hosts its charismatic presenter, Jack Strange, setting the stage for a tease about a classified incident said to have happened at a high school somewhere in Asia. The meta prelude frames the night as more than just a typical after‑school struggle; it hints at something larger lurking behind the ordinary walls.

Within the hallways, Stanlei—a tough skater girl—tears through the corridors, rattling the school as the rest of the students assemble on the steps, waiting for their teacher, Mr. Hughes. The group includes Zack the nerd, Tammy the popular girl, Keiko the Japanese exchange student, and Omar the star athlete. In a separate, almost surreal moment, Stanlei tracks down the eccentric science teacher, Professor Rosencrantz, for a bizarre chat about toast, reasoning, and cats before she returns to the detention room.
