Czech astronaut Jakub Prochazka begins his six-month solo mission in space. His primary objective is to investigate the mysterious Chopra cloud beyond Jupiter, aiming to collect samples and bring them back to Earth.

The Chopra cloud, which had emerged four years prior, presents a significant scientific opportunity. Just before Jakub's arrival, South Korean astronauts also set their sights on exploring the cloud, intensifying the race for discovery.

As Jakub undertakes his mission, he struggles immensely with loneliness and isolation. He deeply misses his wife Lenka and becomes increasingly aware of her stopped communication, heightening his emotional distress.

Jakub discovers through indirect messages that Lenka desires to leave him. However, Commissioner Tuma intervenes, refraining from disclosing this painful news to help protect Jakub's fragile mental health amidst the pressures of space.

Jakub experiences severe frustrations aboard his spacecraft due to a malfunction and environmental noises, particularly from the toilet. He seeks support from his friend Peter, who neglects Jakub's concerns to focus on critical repairs.

In a surreal turn of events, Jakub's isolation is interrupted by a spider-like being named Hanus, who possesses telepathic powers. Curious about human nature, Hanus seeks to learn about mortality and loneliness, establishing a unique bond with Jakub.

As their bond grows, Hanus begins exploring Jakub's past memories, including his relationship with Lenka and the tragedies he has endured, such as losing his father to violence. This exploration brings Jakub's emotional struggles to the forefront.

Hanus, while learning about Jakub's emotional distance and past neglect towards Lenka, starts feeling disillusioned with humanity. This tension surfaces especially after witnessing Jakub's unresolved guilt from past relationships and losses.
