Sleepy Hollow High

Constable Ichabod Crane is dispatched to the Dutch hamlet of Sleepy Hollow to investigate a brutal series of decapitations. He learns locals blame an undead Headless Horseman who rides with a missing head. The town elders greet him with guarded hospitality as fear and rumor spread.

The victims include Peter Van Garrett, his son Dirk, and widow Emily Winship, fueling the myth of the Horseman. Ichabod weighs whether the killer is supernatural or a human conspirator. The killings hint at a hidden motive tied to the town's elite and a possible inheritance scheme.

Ichabod lodges at Baltus Van Tassel's home and is drawn to Katrina, Baltus's ward. He begins to suspect there is more to the case than superstition. The investigation deepens as danger closes in around him.

After the fourth victim, Jonathan Masbath is taken in by Ichabod as an ally and guide. Masbath provides local knowledge and steadfast courage, helping Ichabod pursue the truth. The unlikely pair form a tentative partnership against the killings.

acting on a tip from Magistrate Samuel Philipse, Ichabod and Masbath exhume the bodies and learn that the widow Winship died pregnant, hinting at inheritance as motive. Ichabod then witnesses the Horseman kill Philipse, proving the threat is real and personal.

In the Western Woods, a crone guides them to the Tree of the Dead, where the Horseman's grave is said to lie. They deduce that the skull and the tree may be linked to the Horseman's power. The discovery heightens the sense of a looming ritual.

They dig up the Horseman's grave and find the skull is missing, implying a living master manipulates the curse. The revelation confirms that someone among the townsfolk wields the Horseman's power. This fuels Ichabod's suspicions of a conspiracy at the heart of Sleepy Hollow.

That night, the Horseman slays midwife Beth Killian and her family, and Brom is killed when he tries to intervene. Ichabod suspects the targeted victims are connected to the new will and inheritance scheme. The deaths shock the village and push the investigation toward a single conspirator.

Hardenbrook reveals that Van Garrett secretly married Winship and that a new will would leave the estate to her and her unborn child. Hardenbrook then commits suicide, and Steenwyck convenes a town meeting to discredit Ichabod and the investigation.

Baltus bursts into the church proclaiming that the Horseman has killed his wife. The Horseman attacks the church but cannot enter, triggering chaos as the elders turn on one another and fall to infighting.

Katrina's protective diagram is revealed not to summon, but to shield against the Horseman. Lady Van Tassel steps forward as the mastermind, confessing a vendetta against the Van Garrett and Van Tassel lines and a pact with Satan to raise the Horseman and seize the estates.

Ichabod and Masbath rush to the windmill as the Horseman arrives; the windmill is destroyed in their escape. They race toward the Tree of the Dead, where the final confrontation will take place.

At the Tree of the Dead, Ichabod retrieves the Horseman's skull from Lady Van Tassel and returns it to him, breaking the curse. The Horseman is freed from Lady Van Tassel's control and spares Katrina before taking her to Hell.

Ichabod Crane departs Sleepy Hollow and returns to New York with Katrina and Young Masbath. The trio leaves the haunting of Sleepy Hollow behind as they start a new chapter together.
