In the remote community of Pangnirtung, Nunavut, four teenage girls experience the monotony of their typical daily routine. Seeking to escape the dullness of their lives, the girls yearn for adventure and excitement.

The girls decide to embark on a forbidden boat trip, venturing into areas warned about without adult supervision. Among them, Maika makes the bold decision to bring along her father's rifle, hinting at the imminent dangers they might encounter.

Upon reaching the forbidden land, the girls encounter an unexpected and terrifying polar bear. The situation escalates when Maika's little sister appears, provoking the bear to attack, escalating the tension among the girls.

In a moment of bravery, Maika takes quick action and fires her rifle, successfully saving her sister from the polar bear. Startled by the adrenaline, the girls quickly scramble back to their boat and race to escape the looming danger.

Despite the chaos, Uki feels an irresistible urge to return to the forbidden land for further exploration. Her curiosity leads her to discover an alien artifact, setting off a chain of unsettling and surreal events.

Uki witnesses a bizarre sight: the polar bear and an elk are dragging a body towards the alien artifact while it drains its blood. This sight plunges her into a nightmarish reality far beyond her wildest imagination.

In the aftermath of Uki’s discovery, a police officer becomes the next unfortunate victim of the polar bear. The bear attacks him, ultimately transforming him into a Skin, introducing a dire threat to the girls.

As the terror escalates, the girls take refuge in a container ship, hiding from the haunting presence of the Skins. Knowing their parents are at a Social Dance, they realize they cannot remain hidden forever.

Determined to reclaim their safety, Uki, Maika, and Jesse devise a risky plan that involves using Uki as bait to lure out the fisherman Skin. Their resolve strengthens as they prepare for the confrontation.

Just as the girls are about to execute their plan, Thomassie arrives on his Honda four-wheeler, providing them with a glimmer of hope. Together, they face the fisherman Skin, beginning a fierce struggle for survival.

The fisherman Skin manages to break free and ruthlessly attacks Uki, latching onto her and draining her blood. The girls are momentarily paralyzed with fear as they witness this horrifying act unfold before their eyes.

In a desperate bid to save her father, Maika recollects invaluable hunting lessons from her childhood. With renewed determination, she takes action, confronting the Skin and ultimately slashing its throat in a fierce battle.

After the confrontation, a brilliant beam of light bursts forth from the alien artifact, signaling the end of the Skin. The girls observe as this powerful light culminates in the emergence of a mysterious spacecraft, marking their victory.

A month later, life gradually returns to normal in Pangnirtung. News reporters converge to cover the unusual events, while Maika and Uki reflect on their harrowing adventure, demonstrating growth from their earlier selves.

During interviews, Maika confidently claims her identity as a hunter, encapsulating her growth amid the chaos. As Uki engages with reporters, the story leaves a sense of mystery and open-ended potential for future adventures.
