Skull Heads

In the castle basement, Carver tortures Naomi on a rack for having a cell phone. After the torture, he unties her and warns that the next punishment won't be slow and painful. Naomi bolts upstairs, screaming that she can run faster than him.

Carver unties Naomi and warns that future punishments will be harsher. She bolts toward the stairs, insisting she can outrun him. The moment cements the climate of fear and control in the household.

The next afternoon Lisbeth questions Naomi's treatment. Naomi is cheered by her toy horse, while Lisbeth reads Edgar Allan Poe to Carver and mentions 'guardian angels'—small skull-headed creatures that haunt the house. The scene deepens the eerie mystique surrounding the castle.

Naomi expresses a wish to go to college and meet new people. Lisbeth recounts family legends involving a circus, hinting at Naomi's tangled lineage. Lisbeth later finds an iPod under Naomi's pillow and lets her keep it as long as Carver doesn't know.

The next morning, Kimi, L.J., and Jensen arrive posing as Hollywood producers scouting locations. Carver tears up Kimi's business card and orders Uncle Peter to escort them out. Naomi steals a cell phone from a delivery boy and invites the trio to dinner.

During dinner, the family relaxes until they hear something ominous. Lisbeth and Carver explain the concept of the 'protectors' and reveal that the skull-headed guardians are part of an old ritual to guard the dead. The dinner becomes tense as memories and myths collide with the present danger.

After a tour of the castle, the group is revealed to be art thieves, not filmmakers. The deception upends Naomi's sense of safety and raises the stakes for anyone inside the house. The intruders prepare to seize valuables while the guardians lurk nearby.

The next morning Carver catches Peter attempting to have sex with Claudia and brutally interrupts him. He dominates the maid, underscoring the brutal control he wields over everyone in the house. Naomi's world grows more perilous as trust crumbles.

That night, Kimi, L.J., and Jensen slip back into the castle to steal valuables. They move through dark corridors, trying to avoid detection as they grab objects they had targeted earlier. The tension rises as alarms remain off and danger looms.

Jensen finds and frees Naomi from the rack, and they run into Carver and Lisbeth. Lisbeth explains that Naomi is both their daughter and niece due to an incestuous family history, revealing Naomi is retarded from inbreeding and confused about her identity. The revelation fractures the already tenuous family ties.

Kimi shoots Carver and Lisbeth, forcing Jensen and Naomi back into the basement. The attackers regroup as the guardians and their victims circle the space, increasing the sense of an inescapable trap. The surviving thieves scramble to escape with whatever they can.

The Skull Heads resurrect Carver and Lisbeth as zombies and set them on the thieves. Carver and Lisbeth corner L.J. and Kimi at the castle doors, eating faces and spraying blood as chaos erupts. Naomi and Peter watch the nightmare unfold from the shadows.

Peter releases Naomi and Jensen. Jensen climbs to retrieve Naomi's grandfather, only to find him dead, his body rising under Skull Head control. He grabs Kimi's gun, shoots at Carver and Lisbeth, and flees outside, slamming the doors behind him.

Just when Jensen thinks he has escaped, a screaming Naomi appears at the doors, grabs Jensen, and drags him back inside, slamming the doors once more. The film ends with Naomi enforcing a brutal, claustrophobic fate for the intruders.
