Camille, an adventurous 18-year-old girl, lives with her strict single mother in Long Island. Despite her mother's disapproval, Camille's love for skateboarding is undeniable and drives her to seek out like-minded friends.

After an unfortunate mishap while skateboarding results in an injury, Camille's mother insists that she quit the sport for good. This only fuels Camille's desire to skate even more as she navigates her mother's restrictions.

Camille stumbles upon Skate Kitchen, an Instagram group of female skaters she admires. Feeling compelled to meet them, she makes plans to attend one of their gatherings in New York City.

Upon reaching New York, Camille is warmly embraced by the members of Skate Kitchen, who are more free-spirited and experienced than she is. This new friendship introduces her to a world of skateboarding, cannabis, and complex relationships.

To avoid upsetting her mother, Camille lies about her whereabouts, telling her she's studying at the library. However, a missed train ride home leads her mother to confiscate her skateboard as punishment.

After losing her skateboard, Camille's new friends pool their resources to help her build a new board. Janay, one of the skaters, kindly offers Camille a place to stay, initially as a temporary arrangement.

Camille's new living situation becomes permanent after her mother confronts her at a skate park. Camille stands up to her mother's aggressive behavior, asserting her desire to follow her passion.

As Camille settles into her life with the Skate Kitchen crew, she finds a job at a grocery store. This job not only helps her financially but also strengthens her bond with the community of skaters.

Camille develops a crush on Devon, a skater from another group, only to find out about his complicated history with Janay. This revelation complicates her feelings within the crew.

Janay becomes upset upon discovering pictures of Camille with Devon, mistakenly believing they've developed a romantic relationship. This leads to Camille being ostracized from the Skate Kitchen crew.

Heartbroken and cast out by her friends, Camille seeks solace in Devon's shabby apartment where he lives with other male skaters. Their budding chemistry culminates in an awkward moment when Devon compares her to a little sister.

Feeling despondent after the fallout with her friends, Camille decides to return home. Her mother, showing warmth and understanding, welcomes her back, signaling a possible reconciliation.

Taking a brave step toward mending her friendships, Camille reaches out to the Skate Kitchen group via Instagram to apologize for the misunderstanding. This gesture opens the door to potential forgiveness.

The film reaches its climax as Camille reunites with the Skate Kitchen crew. Together, they ride through the vibrant streets of Manhattan, showcasing the strength of their community and shared passion for skating.
