During World War II, three German soldiers are pulled from the front after Stroszek is wounded. They are posted to a quiet coastal village on the Greek island of Kos while he recovers. Boredom and the monotony of the idle posting wear on them, and the isolated environment drives Stroszek toward madness as the days stretch into endless summer.
