Shrek the Third

As King Harold falls ill, Shrek reluctantly takes on the role of Regent for Far Far Away. However, his attempts to govern lead to disastrous outcomes, showcasing his disinterest and ineptitude in ruling.

On his deathbed, King Harold reveals to Shrek that there is an unexpected heir to the throne: his nephew, Arthur 'Artie' Pendragon. This information changes the course of Shrek's journey as he learns of his responsibility to find Artie.

Prince Charming, seeking revenge for his mother Fairy Godmother's death, gathers fairy tale villains at the Poison Apple tavern. He convinces them to help him reclaim the throne and achieve their 'happily ever after'.

Determined to find Artie, Shrek embarks on a mission with his loyal friends, Donkey and Puss in Boots. As they set sail, Fiona reveals she is pregnant, adding to Shrek's anxiety about fatherhood.

Shrek, Donkey, and Puss arrive at Worcestershire Academy, where they finally meet Artie, a socially awkward 16-year-old. Shrek tries to inspire Artie about becoming king, but Donkey and Puss unintentionally scare him with royal responsibilities.

Overwhelmed by the pressure of becoming king, Artie attempts to steer their ship back, causing a crash landing on a deserted island. There, they meet Merlin, Artie's retired magic teacher, who encourages them to connect and grow.

While Shrek is on his quest, Fiona and Queen Lillian throw a baby shower. However, the celebration is interrupted when Prince Charming and the villains launch a surprise attack on the castle.

Charming's henchmen, including Gingy and Pinocchio, distract him while Fiona and the other princesses escape to safety. However, Charming learns about Shrek's quest to find Artie, putting them all in greater danger.

While hiding on Merlin's island, Artie devises a plan to return to Far Far Away using magic. However, their spell backfires, leading to a chaotic situation where Donkey and Puss switch bodies.

In a dramatic moment, Charming plans to slay Artie to secure the throne. Shrek distracts Charming with a fabricated story about using Artie as a stand-in king, allowing Artie to escape just in time.

With the help of Fiona, Lillian, and other princesses, the captured characters break free from the dungeon. They band together to rescue Shrek and confront Charming and his villains.

During the climax, Artie delivers a powerful speech urging the villains to seek acceptance instead of revenge. This causes many to reconsider their loyalties and change sides, creating a pivotal moment in the battle.

As Charming attempts to strike Artie, he accidentally injures himself instead. Dragon then takes down the stage structure, effectively eliminating Charming from the battle and securing victory for Shrek and his friends.

With Charming defeated, Artie is crowned the new king of Far Far Away. The kingdom celebrates the new reign, embracing the joy and hope of a fresh chapter with Artie as their leader.

Back in the swamp, Shrek and Fiona start their journey as new parents to triplets. With the support of their friends, they navigate the challenges of family life, emphasizing the importance of friendship and community.
