Jacob Harlon enjoys a seemingly ideal life as a stockbroker in California, living happily with his wife Katherine and their son Joshua. Their life reflects success and prosperity, filled with dreams and possibilities.

One fateful night, after a night out with friends, Jacob makes a disastrous decision to drive under the influence. This results in a tragic car collision that takes the life of one of his friends, forever altering the course of his life.

After being released, Jacob quickly confronts the dangers of his gang affiliations when an assassination attempt occurs at a celebratory party. This incident forces him to establish his authority over younger gang members like Howie.

A visit from his estranged wife and son stirs old memories for Jacob, leading to an emotional confrontation that highlights his inner turmoil. This visit serves as a reminder of the family he has put at risk due to his criminal choices.

On the day of the planned weapon transaction, Jacob confronts Shotgun, the informant leaking information to his parole officer. The encounter escalates to violence, culminating in Jacob killing Shotgun to protect his interests and avoid capture.
