Alba witnesses three boys throwing Dídac into the lake and immediately dives in to save him without hesitation. Her protective instinct overrides any consideration for her own safety, establishing her as the caretaker figure who will later become essential to their survival in the ruined world.

Earlier in the film, Alba is established as Dídac's teacher and guardian, making her rescue action consistent with her character.
