Djibril, a 14‑year‑old member of the Grasshoppers gang, lives in a Marseille slum with his pregnant girlfriend Camilla, who belongs to the rival Crickets. After being forced to kill Mahad, a young Cricket, he is cursed and begins hearing spirits. Convinced an apocalypse is imminent, he plots to flee with Camilla and their unborn child, the only hope against Mahad’s malediction. Twelve years later, after prison and a secure psychiatric unit, Djibril is determined to find his daughter and persuade her to fulfil his prophecy.
