Following their return to Tunisia from the Syrian front, where they were held captive and suffered trauma, Zina and Djo struggle to rebuild their lives. Zina is separated from her infant child, and Djo, discovering she is pregnant, retreats into silence, documenting her horrific experiences in a novel. They receive support from Tunisian lawyer Nadia and humanitarian doctor Dora, but their recovery is complicated by violence from those around them and the judgment of social media. Nadia, who also represents the persecuted young Driss, encourages a meeting between them, hoping it will allow them to confront their past and challenge societal injustice.
