Bittu [Sonu Sood] and Varatharajan [Kota Srinivasa Rao], a sharp-witted master robber and a local MLA, hatch a high-stakes plan to rob ₹15 billion (US$180 million) from a bank. Ravi Narayan [Prashanth] is a young man who believes in quick money rather than toiling like his father Narayana Murthy [Nassar], a man who values hard work. During a chance encounter with Bittu, Ravi reveals his ambition of making easy money by betting on an IPL match and discloses the location of the betting ring. But the law catches up when police raid the spot and Ravi is apprehended. During interrogation, Ravi deduces that Bittu tipped off the cops to the crime and he convinces ACP Seetharaman [Thambi Ramaiah], a key investigator, to rethink his stance.

Bittu manages to pull off the bank robbery, and his brother Lala takes the loot to the city’s dumping yard. The police catch Lala, who resists and is killed by Ravi. Meanwhile, Bittu goes to the dumping yard to reclaim the money, only to find the yard burnt to ashes. With his brother dead and the money destroyed, Bittu resolves to kill Ravi. Manickam moves Ravi to Coimbatore under the Witness Protection Program and places him in the care of DIG Sitaram’s household. One day, Ravi encounters Madhu, a middle-class girl who works with travel agent Murthy, an associate of Bittu. He helps Madhu, and through their growing bond they uncover details about Bittu’s operation. Ravi also assists in arranging fake passports for Bittu’s gang to facilitate their escape from India, and the two fall in love while pursuing the truth together. Madhu [Amanda Rosario] becomes a crucial ally as their investigation deepens.

The violent deeds escalate when Bittu murders Inspector Rajamanickam [Rao Ramesh] by planting a bomb in his car and then targets Ravi’s family, hospitalizing his father (who survives) and reigniting Ravi’s determination to retrieve the money for the people who worked so hard for their livelihoods. Ravi learns that his sister Raji [Leema Babu] has been kidnapped and framed for Rajamanickam’s murder after he unknowingly answers a phone bomb activation, but DIG Sitaram helps secure her release. A twist reveals that Rajamanickam’s death may not be as it seemed, as Bittu uncovers that Rajamanickam and Varatharajan had a plan involving fake currencies exchanged at the dumping yard and then burnt to mislead Ravi about the fate of the money.

Bittu eliminates Rajamanickam and Varatharajan and plans to flee the country by loading the money into a container bound for a goods ship. Ravi, using his wits, outsmarts the henchmen and forces them to return the money to the bank. A mob outside the bank disrupts the operation, and a final confrontation unfolds between Ravi and Bittu. With Sitaram’s assistance, Ravi defeats Bittu, exposes the stolen money, and rescues Raji. The story closes on Ravi’s realization that hard work and persistence trump shortcuts, as he lands a job interview and is offered a position with a monthly salary of ₹25,000 (US$300).

Nargis Fakhri [Nargis Fakhri] makes a brief Special Appearance in the Desi Girl song, adding a notable glint to the film’s broader mix of players.
