Kabir Garewal, a charming yet roguish filmmaker and screenwriter, passionate about the GUNS Trilogy that follows a thief’s life, is tasked with filming the third installment after the first two hits. He jets off to Malaysia where he crosses paths with a London-based filmmaker, Ayesha, and a spark quickly turns into romance. But Ayesha uncovers Kabir’s long history as a casanova, fears he hasn’t changed, and ends things, returning to London. Devastated, Kabir sinks into a blue spiral and drifts back to Mumbai, unable to finish Guns 3.
With the project stalled, Kabir clings to hope through his assistant, Meera, who suggests he attend a film festival as part of the jury in the hopes of reigniting his creative fire. Yet Ayesha misreads his presence and asks him to stay away. The personal blow is compounded by hardship at home: the death of his father, Mr. Grewal, and a lawsuit from the film’s financiers, pushing Kabir toward a decision to move on and finish the movie on his own terms.
Meanwhile, the world inside Kabir’s imagination—the fictional backdrop of Guns 3—introduces Roy, a famed international art thief who seems untouchable by governments or investigators like Detective D. S. Wadia. Roy travels to a distant land to steal a priceless painting, only to discover the owner is the enigmatic Tia. At an art auction, Roy wins Tia’s trust, gains access to her mansion, and the two grow close. One night, he steals the painting, leaving Tia heartbroken. Roy later regrets the act and returns the painting; after a tense clash with the painting’s new owner, Tia realizes Roy has changed and she forgives him.
Back in reality, Guns 3 hits the screens and proves to be a resounding success at the box office. The triumph mirrors the romance in Kabir’s own life: he proposes to Ayesha, and the two rekindle their relationship, echoing the arc of Roy and Tia in the film. The closing moments fuse fiction and life as Roy and Tia walk together across a bridge, a visual nod to the painting’s iconic scene and a quiet, hopeful link between Kabir’s movie world and his own journey.
