Reign of Assassins

In ancient times, Bodhi, an Indian Buddhist monk, discovers the art of Kung Fu and becomes convinced that his mummified remains hold mystical powers. This belief seeds a legend that threads through the ambitions of a ruthless gang and the fate of those who cross their path. It draws the Dark Stone gang's attention as they seek the relics.

The Dark Stone gang learns that half of the remains lies with Prime Minister Zhang. They dispatch assassins to silence Zhang and his son Renfeng and secure the relics for themselves. The plan sets off a dangerous hunt that will ripple through the city and beyond.

On a tense bridge, Drizzle, the gang's top assassin, escapes with the coveted relics. The pursuit leaves a trail of questions as she evades capture and vanishes into the crowded city. The escape marks the first crack in the gang's hold on the fate of the relics.

Drizzle encounters Wise Wisdom, a master swordsman who will test her abilities and challenge her conscience. Over a three month alliance, Wisdom trains her and nudges her toward a different path in life.

Wisdom explains that Drizzle's swordsmanship has four fatal flaws and warns that a true master could end her. He uses careful, lethal instruction to push her toward greater awareness of power and responsibility.

The mentorship ends in tragedy as Wisdom dies at Drizzle's hands during a brutal test. The weight of this act burdens her conscience and marks a turning point in her choices moving forward.

Grief drives Drizzle to a surgeon who reshapes her appearance, allowing her to assume the identity of Zeng Jing, a modest cloth merchant. With her old life behind her, she begins to rebuild under a new name and a new set of risks.

As Zeng Jing, she catches the eye of the messenger Ah Sheng and marries him, forging a life that stands apart from the gang's bloodthirsty pursuits. Their bond is built amid an atmosphere of danger, desire, and hidden secrets.

Back with the Dark Stone gang, Wheel King recruits Turquoise along with Leì Bin and the Magician to hunt Drizzle down. The trio becomes a deadly task force charged with capturing Zeng Jing and reclaiming the relics.

Drizzle, living as Zeng Jing, stops a bank robbery with remarkable skill, saving herself and her husband. The act, witnessed by many, exposes her whereabouts to the Dark Stone gang and raises the stakes for the conflict.

Leì Bin, the Magician, and Turquoise close in on Zeng Jing, but their own infighting destabilizes the pursuit. The Magician dies amid the discord, leaving the others to press on with the mission and the uneasy alliance fraying.

Ah Sheng reveals that the Cen Ci swords are in fact Renfeng's weapons and that Renfeng survived through a ruse tied to his situs inversus. The truth shocks Drizzle as she learns the man she thought was dead is alive and in disguise by her side.

Renfeng confesses that love between them is impossible given the harm caused by their actions, yet he cannot bring himself to kill her. He urges Drizzle to leave and end the cycle of vengeance before it consumes them both.

Turquoise uncovers the Wheel King's schemes and speaks of them, but her honesty seals her fate as she is buried alive beneath a bridge. The revelation underscores the ruthlessness of Wheel King's pursuit and the costs paid by those in the know.

Drizzle confronts Wheel King in a brutal final duel, drawing on Wisdom's teachings to land a fatal strike. Wheel King is wounded fatally, and Renfeng appears lifeless as a ruse that allows him to witness the last stand. He awakens, carries Drizzle home, and they agree to return and draw up the divorce papers, hopeful for a future beyond vengeance.
