Rama Shama Bhama

Priya [Daisy Bopanna] is an orphan who has endured hardship in her early life, and as an adult she hopes for a life of comfort and luxury by seeking a wealthy man who can love her and provide everything she desires. Her former suitor, Raja [Aniruddha Jatkar], is a colleague who once loved her, but Priya rejects him because his fortunes do not match her dreams.

Ram [Ramesh Aravind] is a successful professional cartoonist who leads a stable life with his wife Bhama mani [Urvashi] and their two children, along with Ram’s aging father Rangaswamy [H. G. Dattatreya]. When Ram begins looking for a new apartment, Priya fits the bill as the real estate agent who shows him around. Their encounter soon blossoms into an affair, and Priya remains unaware that Ram is a married man with a family.

The affair takes a turn toward an impulsive Goa getaway. At the airport, Ram unexpectedly bumps into his old college friend Dr. Shyam Sajjan [Kamal Haasan], a quirky and invasive presence who sticks to Ram like a shadow. Ram hopes to keep Shyam out of his private life, but Shyam’s presence becomes a constant complication. Ram tries to hide the truth from Shyam, even as he lies about visiting a friend to explain his travel. The hotel reception catches him trying to check in with Priya, and Shyam confronts him. Shyam warns Ram that such deception is not sustainable, but Ram remains stubbornly in love and dismisses the caution.

After returning from Goa, Ram’s duplicity begins to unravel. He told Bhama mani that he would be away on official business in Delhi, but the lie is soon exposed. Bhama mani confronts the truth, and she gives Ram a stark ultimatum: end the affair and return to the family, or continue with Priya. Ram chooses Priya, and the rift in the household widens. Bhama mani, determined to win her husband back, orchestrates a test of loyalty that sets the stage for a chaotic clash of generations.

In a bold, if misguided, move, Bhama mani brings Ram’s father Rangaswamy and his two grandchildren into Priya’s life, hoping the disruption will jolt Ram back to reality. The resulting chaos strains Priya’s life to the limit, forcing her to push back against the demands of a modern, increasingly complicated love triangle. Shyam’s involvement adds another layer of complication as Bhama mani recruits Raja to create a scenario that would provoke Priya to resolve the situation. The plan brings all four—Priya, Raja, Ram, and Bhama mani—face to face in a tense, improvised confrontation.

Just as a fragile balance seems to be restored, Shyam’s wife Shanti [Shruti] unexpectedly returns home earlier than planned. In a moment of mistaken trust, Priya thanks Shyam “as a brother,” and Shanti misreads the situation, assuming her husband is entangled with Priya. The misunderstanding spirals into a new round of chaos, culminating in a dramatic sequence where Priya, Raja, Ram, and Bhama mani tumble into a swimming pool, and Shanti leaves in anger with the family car. Their prankster son’s actions—removing the brakes from the car—add to the peril and confusion.

Chasing the muddled truth, Dr. Shyam Sajjan and his son pursue the situation on a motorcycle, steering the story toward a chaotic but ultimately reconciliatory close. In the end, Shanti comes to understand the true nature of the relationships, and the film resolves with the couples—Priya and Raja, Ram and Bhama mani, Dr. Shyam Sajjan and Shanti—finding happiness together and celebrating in a final, joyous dance.
