Liang Chia‑jen delivers the same animal‑like intensity that marked his early heroic‑bloodshed work, now channelled into a hardened ex‑cop forced to run a pet shop. Chu Chiang’s stern Police Superintendent Liu, a precursor to his later role in John Woo’s The Killer, oversees the case, while newcomer Fei Hsiang undertakes Serpico‑style sleuthing to uncover which officer is on the mob’s payroll.
