In a bustling New York corner where a faded carnival sideshow clings to survival, a desperate scheme is hatched to turn the tide. The aging proprietor, Pop Lane, and his quick‑witted daughter, Florence “Flip” Lane, run a troupe of colorful misfits who have seen better days. Their latest gamble involves the enormous mechanical whale that looms over the midway—a spectacle that has become more a curiosity than a profit generator.
