Pretham 2 (2018) Spoiler-Free Summary – What It's About

In a quiet corner of Kerala, five strangers bound together by a Facebook cinema‑enthusiasts group decide to turn their online banter into a real‑world collaboration. They converge on Mangalassery Mana, an aging mansion that has long been a favorite backdrop for movies and a silent witness to whispered legends. Their plan is simple: spend a weekend there, shoot a short film directed by the passionate Tapas Menon, and finally meet the faces behind the screens they’ve admired for months.

The mansion’s crumbling corridors and dimly lit rooms already set a tone that blurs the line between staged scares and something far less scripted. As the crew sets up lights and cameras, subtle disturbances begin to ripple through their rehearsals, casting an uneasy glow on the camaraderie that once felt purely creative. The atmosphere is thick with anticipation, each creak and fleeting shadow prompting the team to question whether the house is simply a character in their story or something far more enigmatic.

Living next door is the enigmatic John Don Bosco, a mentalist who has come to the area for his own unconventional treatment. Drawn by the strange occurrences, he offers a quiet, observant presence that balances the group’s youthful vigor with a seasoned calm. The collaboration between the aspiring filmmakers and John hints at a deeper inquiry into the unknown, as curiosity, fear, and the desire to capture something beyond ordinary cinema intertwine. Together they navigate an environment where every unexpected sound invites speculation, and the line between performance and reality becomes delightfully, unsettlingly, ambiguous.
