Coco Daniel Hendler and his pregnant wife Pipi Jazmín Stuart move into a Buenos Aires apartment complex, hoping to keep their day-to-day life intact as the city outside grows tense. They meander through the local market, bicker over groceries, and barely register the tightening mood around them. When they finally return to their unit, the government has quarantined the building, sealing everyone inside and turning a routine couple’s life into a crowded, uncertain siege.

Inside, Coco’s concern stays deliberately low as he wrestles with the loss of Internet service and television, trying to sleep through the unfolding disaster rather than confront it. The mood is subtle at first, but the tension steadily escalates as neighbors whisper about the contagion and the rules that come with the quarantine.

Horacio Yayo Guridi, a paranoid survivalist whose apartment doubles as a fortified bunker, begins to draw Coco into a plan to resist the perceived threat. With a steady, almost clinical calm, Horacio starts to turn the building into a maze of traps, and he leans on Coco to help implement them. Coco reluctantly participates, triggering the traps and grinding against the idea that danger might be closer than he thinks. Horacio’s demands grow: wear a hazmat suit, carry a pistol, and watch a survival training video that hints the pandemic could be a plot by the New World Order. This conversation marks a turning point as Coco confronts the absurdities of survival ideology and the fragility of their safety net.

Zanutto [Federico Luppi], an elderly neighbor, becomes a focal point of fear as he is suspected of carrying illness. The tenants sense weakness and prey on him, and things culminate in a brutal blaze of self-defense as Zanutto uses a shotgun to defend himself against those who threaten him. The incident fuels his paranoia, setting him on a collision course with the others still clinging to a sense of control. Horacio sees an opening and convinces Coco to join a confrontation against Zanutto, but Coco proves to be a disappointingly ineffective ally in the ensuing tense standoff. In the heat of the confrontation, Zanutto slashes Horacio, while Horacio delivers a fatal counterblow that mortally stabs Zanutto. Before dying, Zanutto asks Coco to watch his dachshund, a quiet reminder of the human toll behind the conflict. The duo then forms a fragile, uneasy truce, and the survivors press on as the building’s chaos continues to unfold.

With the threat still looming, Horacio and Coco venture out to scavenge, and Coco slowly proves his value by defending Horacio against a wave of armed intruders, turning the tide with decisive actions that save them from a worse fate. The moment underscores a shift in Coco’s character—from passive bystander to a capable participant in their fragile micro-society.

As Horacio’s strength fades and fear of infection grows, he reveals a plan to escape to a hidden refuge and asks Coco to take his daughter, Luli Fiorella Indelicato, and Pipi to safety. The revelation of the hideout location comes with a heavy price: Coco’s reluctance to shoulder leadership clashes with Horacio’s mounting desperation. The clash ends in a brutal way as Horacio stabs Coco, forcing him to flee with the Chinese family and the remaining survivors. In a final, desperate turn, a Chinese family father who had been missing reappears and shoots Horacio through the neck, ending his arc with a grim sense that survival sometimes requires abrupt, violent decisions.

In the end, Coco, the Chinese family, and the remaining tenants escape the chaos using Horacio’s armored vehicle, heading toward the hidden refuge and the unknown, hoping their cautious alliance and newfound resolve will keep them safe as they move away from the quarantined complex and toward a fragile new calm.
