Sethu, a 43-year-old SI, is eager to be with his wife Suja for the delivery of their baby. The two previous pregnancies miscarried, keeping the family under great tension. On the morning his planned leave should start, his superior Shihab Ali tasks him with a different mission: to locate and arrest Solomon, who is out on parole and has not returned.

He travels to locate Solomon, who is on parole and hasn't returned after his due date. He reaches Solomon's house, but Solomon senses the dragnet and escapes. This leads to a tense pursuit through the village.

Solomon tries to kill some local men, but they overpower and beat him. The attempt escalates fear and draws Sethu back into pursuit. The mood becomes tense as the village witnesses the pursuit.

Sethu arrives at the scene and arrests Solomon. They head back toward the police station in a police vehicle, and the case moves toward formal processing. The encounter marks the shift from pursuit to interrogation.

During the ride, Solomon narrates his life: he was an orphan who was deeply loved in his village; he eloped with Seetha, they married, and had a baby girl named Lachumol. He describes how their happiness was shattered when Lachumol went missing and was later found murdered, with the postmortem showing she had been raped.

During the local church festival, Lachumol goes missing. The next day her corpse is found, and the postmortem reveals she was raped before death. The villagers suspect Head Constable Varadhan, who had hoped to marry Seetha.

Varadhan investigates unofficially and discovers the culprits are two drug addicts who acted under the influence. He explains that his confrontation with Solomon at the festival was manufactured, and that scene helped drive Lachumol's death. Antony acknowledges the tension and Varadhan's findings complicate the case.

The court acquits the accused due to lack of evidence, with the police involved in the defense. The verdict sparks controversy and leaves the village divided on justice. The light of the case shifts as no definitive proof ties the crime to the initial suspects.

Seetha demands that the culprits be killed, insisting on punishment. Solomon retaliates by killing one of them in front of the court but is quickly captured by allies and relatives of the accused, signaling a new cycle of violence.

Solomon is sent to jail, and later released on parole. He tells Sethu that this is his chance for revenge, prompting Sethu to intervene and escort him toward the police station to prevent further bloodshed. The tension between justice and revenge deepens.

While Sethu pursues the tense course of the case, Suja delivers a baby girl, enriching the personal stakes of the investigation. Her arrival adds emotional weight to Sethu's decisions about revenge and duty. The family storyline intersects with the law-enforcement arc.

After returning from leave, Sethu visits Solomon in jail and urges him not to seek revenge. Solomon muses that if prayers are answered, they would come from someone who is also a father of a girl. Sethu remains silent, reflecting the moral ambiguity at the heart of justice.

In a flashback, it is revealed that Sethu killed Solomon to avenge Lachumol's death. The revelation reframes Sethu's role as both protector and killer and complicates the moral landscape of the story.

Solomon is released from jail after his term ends and reunites with Seetha, who has waited for him. Their reunion marks a fragile closure to their turbulent arc and hints at a possible new beginning.
