Inspired by Alexandre Dumas’s classic The Count of Monte Cristo, the film became the first Indian production shot in 70 mm. It follows Prince Udayan (Nazir), heir to the Kolathiri throne, who is betrayed by his cousin Devan (Madhu) and forced into exile. After years away, Udayan returns to Kolathiri intent on avenging the treachery and reclaiming his rightful place.
