Notzilla

The JSDF kills a mother kaiju, Notzilla, despite protests from paleontologist Dr. Hiro Honda, who believes she can be restored to her smaller size. Hiro successfully rescues her egg and takes it to Ohio, but it is accidentally flushed down an airplane toilet and falls into the Ohio River, setting the stage for future events.

Scientists at Cincinnati's Secret Nuclear Underground Government Installation (SNUGI), led by Dr. Richard Blowheart, spot the floating egg in the Ohio River after a nuclear test explosion. Richard retrieves the egg, which is linked to the growth of Notzilla when consuming alcohol.

The egg hatches into Notzilla, who immediately starts drinking all of Richard’s beer, causing him to grow to an enormous size. This escalation prompts a search to locate and contain the now-giant monster.

Notzilla escapes from the scientists' confinement and begins wreaking havoc, knocking over vehicles and soldiers. A young boy named Bobby, believing Notzilla has harmed his grandfather, attempts to confront the monster but learns his grandfather is alive, leading to a tense standoff.

The military, led by Frigidair General Dirk Bogus, attempts to stop Notzilla with rockets, shells, and fighter jets, but all are ineffective as the monster demolishes obstacles without concern. Bogus then unveils a super-secret weapon in desperation.

Richard reveals his Super-Secret Uber-Fission Mega Blaster designed to defeat Notzilla, but admits it will irradiate Cincinnati for 50 years. Hiro immobilizes Richard using poetic haiku, revealing his opposition to the weapon.

Shirley shares her theory of 'warm fusion,' which could return Notzilla to his normal size. The scientists develop an anti-beer formula to reverse Notzilla's growth and help restore him.

Notzilla, now giant, causes chaos through Cincinnati, peeling passengers off a train and emitting fiery burps. Shirley communicates with him, guiding him to put out fires and then leaves the city safe as Notzilla departs.

Richard/Donnie attempts to use the Mega-Blaster at Big Finale Ridge, but it shorts out due to sabotage. Notzilla arrives with a bouquet of trees, and Shirley uses the anti-beer formula stored in a giant can to shrink him back to his normal size, disrupting Richard’s plan.

After shrinking Notzilla, Richard/Donnie and others volunteer to be part of a Spartacus-style declaration, resulting in their own shrinkage. Shirley is appointed as head of SNUGI, and Hiro is named director of the Pentagon's Giant Monster Protection Program. The surviving Notzilla, now a pet, carries the disguised physicists as new eggs float ashore.
