Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight

An old woman washes blood-stained clothes in a tub while a postman arrives. He suspects someone is trapped in the cellar and rips a board from the door to enter. Once inside, he is dragged by an unseen force into the basement and disappears.

Three decades later, a phone-free camp for teenagers opens and the rules are strict. The teens surrender their devices and are divided into groups, with the main protagonists all ending up together under the supervision of Iza. The atmosphere is tense and foreboding as the forest looms ahead.

The group is formed and sets off into the woods for a three-day hike. Iza leads the teens, guiding them through the forest as they bond and navigate the unfamiliar terrain. The mood alternates between camaraderie and unease as the terrain grows denser.

While trekking, they stumble upon a dead, rotting deer. Iza notes that the deer was not killed by a predator, but she chooses to press on, ignoring the ominous sign. The group presses deeper into the forest, the sense of danger growing.

The campers stop by a lake to sleep, and Daniel is seen with Aniela. After a night with Aniela, Daniel is brutally killed by a gigantic man who slams him against a tree. The camp remains unaware of the true horror surrounding them.

In the morning, the group splits to search for Daniel. Iza disregards the warned rules of horror, sending some groups to search with the coach while others stay by the lake, hoping Daniel might return. Tension builds as fear and uncertainty mount.

The teens arrive at the house seen at the beginning and uncover Daniel's mangled body in the basement. As they attempt to flee, the killer enters the house. Zosia and Julek escape through a cellar window, while Iza stays behind to fight the monster to recover Daniel's phone and is killed.

Aniela and Bartek are talking by the lake when a metal bar kills Aniela by piercing her neck. Bartek runs to seek help at a nearby church, only to be knocked out and tied to a chair. The killer then murders the priest and later enters the church to find Bartek waiting in the confessional.

Zosia and Julek find refuge in an old man's house, where he recounts the story of twins who, in their mother's care, became feral after a meteorite crash nearby. The mother dies, and the twins later escape, setting the stage for more terror.

The teens decide to call for help and return to the basement to retrieve Daniel's phone. Julek distracts the killer with noise while Zosia sneaks in to grab the phone. The killer's twin blocks her path; Julek is stabbed and his tongue ripped out, and Zosia is knocked unconscious and chained.

Zosia regains consciousness, contends with a dying Julek, and realizes the phone is dead. She kills Julek to end his suffering, frees herself with a knife, and takes a machete. She finds the killer's twin asleep and stabs him, then escapes the house.

The old man, hearing knocks at his door, fires through the door with a shotgun, thinking it might be the twins. He discovers, to his horror, that he has killed Bartek instead, adding another layer of tragedy to the night.

Zosia encounters a police officer by a forest road who offers to drive her back to civilization after noticing her distress. The interaction gives her a moment of hope as she clings to escape.

On the way to civilization, the officer is killed after failing to shoot the killer as one of the twins is struck by the car. Zosia is trapped in the back seat but manages to break the window and drive away, fighting for survival.

The film closes with the killer still alive and his twin waking up in his bed, staring at the police lights outside. The threat persists, suggesting the terror may not be over. The final image leaves the audience unsettled about the fate of the survivors.
