Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb

In 1938, a group of archaeologists embarks on a daring journey across the scorching sands of the Egyptian desert. Their goal is to locate the tomb of the elusive Pharaoh Ahkmenrah, stirring excitement and curiosity among the adventurers.

Among the team, the eager Cecil 'C.J.' Fredericks unearths the ancient Tablet of Ahkmenrah. This artifact carries immense significance and magically ties into the fate of the exhibits in the future.

As the archaeologists hastily catalogue their finds, local legends add tension to their quest. Rumors of a prophecy claiming 'the end will come' begin to circulate, foreshadowing trouble ahead for the future of the tablet.

Fast forward to 2014, Larry Daley works as a night guard at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. Proud of his role, he prepares for the grand reopening of the Hayden Planetarium, a significant change from its previous quirky charm.

While adjusting exhibits, Larry is met with an unexpected addition—a Neanderthal mannequin named Laaa. This odd encounter leads to comical and unnerving moments as Laaa suddenly claims Larry as his father.

As preparations for the planetarium's reopening continue, the ancient tablet shows alarming signs of degradation. This deterioration leads to chaos among the exhibits, causing worry for Larry as he tries to manage the situation amidst personal challenges at home.

In search of answers, Larry visits retired archaeologist Cecil Fredericks to discuss the tablet's current state. Together, they uncover the ancient prophecy linked to the tablet and realize that action is necessary to restore its magical properties.

Motivated by new information, Larry seeks Ahkmenrah's parents at the British Museum. Convincing the museum curator, Dr. McPhee, he manages to arrange transportation for Ahkmenrah back to the museum, setting off on a new adventure.

At the British Museum, Larry and Nick stumble upon several spirited American exhibits who had hidden themselves. Among them are historical figures like Theodore Roosevelt and Sacagawea, who join their quest, adding excitement and chaos to their mission.

As they search for Ahkmenrah's parents, the group has to outsmart the watchful night guard named Tilly. During this frantic pursuit, they encounter various challenges and unexpected alliances form among the exhibits to protect each other.

After securing Ahkmenrah's parents, they learn restoration of the tablet's magic relies on Khonsu and the moonlight. This revelation propels them to seek the right conditions to rejuvenate the tablet before it's too late.

In a humorous twist, Sir Lancelot mistakenly believes the tablet to be the Holy Grail, leading him to embark on a misguided adventure toward Camelot. This misinterpretation causes tension and urgency within the group.

Larry and his team confront Lancelot atop a rooftop during a musical featuring prominent actors. They urge him to see the reality of their existence and the importance of the tablet to avoid returning to inanimacy.

As the moonlight shines down, the group successfully rejuvenates the tablet's magic, bringing all the exhibits back to life. However, they face the bittersweet decision of leaving Ahkmenrah with his family at the museum.

Three years later, Larry transitions to a new job as a schoolteacher, establishing a fresh path for himself. As he watches a traveling exhibit from across the street, he reflects on his past adventures and the lasting legacy of his animated friends.
