In Suryakudi, a village in the Madurai district, life runs on rough街 economics as people steal from neighboring villages and the local administration turns a blind eye. A thief named Irulaiah escapes the police and leaves behind his pregnant wife. Years later, he returns with a new wife and their daughter, Irulayi Susan. His son, Sivanandi [Sampath Raj], kills him to seize the money, and his wife dies in a bid to shield him. His cousin Ayyanar [Vijayakanth] witnesses the tragedy and informs the police, which leads to Sivanandi’s arrest.

Two decades pass, and Ayyanar has become a good-natured beacon in the community, respected for his efforts to improve village life. After Sivanandi’s release from jail, he comes back with vengeance, intent on finishing the job he started. Irulayi remains in his heart, and she is in love with Ayyanar? while a new village doctor also admires him, creating a complex web of devotion and loyalties that thickens the plot.

The peace of the village is shaken when Thavamani uncovers that funds meant for development are being siphoned by the local bureaucracy, led by revenue divisional officer Thirumalaisamy [Pyramid Natarajan]. Thavamani informs Ayyanar of the corruption, and the truth sparks a rash, deadly response: Thirumalaisamy murders Thavamani, and Ayyanar retaliates by killing Thirumalaisamy. Inspector Adithya [Adithya Menon] begins to probe the murder, questioning villagers at the station, and he finds himself facing an unpredictable, volatile defendant. Ayyanar’s temper leads him to slap Adithya for threatening the village women, and in a fit of chaos a villager sets the police station on fire, disfiguring Adithya in the struggle.

Amid the turmoil, Sivanandi teams up with Masanam [Mansoor Ali Khan] to bring down Ayyanar. In the heat of confrontation, AyyanarImplies that Sivanandi can shed his old ways and choose a better path, a turning point that unsettles the alliance against him. Yet the battle continues as Ayyanar overpowers Masanam and Adithya, reaffirming his hold over the village’s moral balance. The narrative concludes with the collector Venkatraman announcing that the development funds will finally be allocated to the villagers, offering a tempered sense of justice and a glimmer of hope for the community.
