The film opens with Krishna Prasad, heavily drunk, attempting to end his life. Chaban intervenes just in time, preventing the suicide and sparing Krishna's life. This moment seeds an unlikely friendship as Krishna agrees to help Chaban with his business.

Deepak Bajaj arrives for a job interview and is hired by Krishna's company. He quickly becomes part of Krishna's professional world. The new employee dynamic sets up tensions that unfold later.

Deepak's car breaks down and Krishna takes him to his home, where his wife Pooja is present. A flashback reveals Krishna's past as a car mechanic, and shows how Pooja's car trouble first brought them together. The two begin to fall in love, though circumstances pull them apart.

Din Dayal offers Krishna money to open his factory, but Krishna refuses. He declares he will only marry Pooja after he becomes a successful businessman. He even writes to Pooja asking her to forget him.

Upon Krishna's return, he finds that Pooja has married another man, leaving him heartbroken. He tries to pursue his dream while coping with the loss of their relationship. Pooja's own heartbreak mirrors Krishna's unfulfilled vows.

On Krishna's birthday, Deepak and Pooja attend a party at Krishna's mansion. Krishna tries to kiss Pooja, prompting Deepak to slap him. Krishna apologizes, but Deepak's insults lead to a scuffle in which Deepak is arrested on embezzlement charges.

Deepak's father pleads with Krishna to release Deepak, but Krishna says he wants Pooja in return. This demand infuriates Deepak's father. Pooja misreads Krishna's motive and believes he intends to sleep with her.

Krishna eventually releases Deepak, who then kicks Pooja out of his house. Master Chaban takes Pooja to his own home for safety and support. The sequence leaves Pooja adrift and seeking guidance.

Chaban goes to Dharamdas and learns that Dharamdas burned the second letter, adding another layer to the past. The revelation compounds the tragedy surrounding Krishna, Pooja, and Deepak. Chaban begins to piece together the truth behind the letters.

Chaban encounters Krishna, who brings Pooja to Deepak and explains how deeply Pooja loves him. Deepak remains unconvinced and rejects the tale. The moment heightens the emotional stakes before the final act.

Krishna shoots himself and dies in the arms of Deepak and Pooja. His death closes a life built on sacrifice and unspoken love. Deepak and Pooja are left to grieve as the tragedy lingers.
