Poovalli Induchoodan Mohanlal is the only son of idealistic High Court Justice Maranchery Karunakara Menon, Thilakan a man whose career and principles are tested to the core. The truth about the crime gradually surfaces: Ramakrishnan, the son of Mooppil and one of Manappally’s staunch backers, was the real killer. After six years, Madhavan Nambiar, now a former state minister, dies, and Induchoodan is released from prison. He then confronts the elder Manappally Pavithran from stopping the funeral rites of his father at the Bharathapuzha river, sparking a cascade of clashes with Pavithran’s henchmen. Justice Menon and his wife Sharada return to Kerala to take shelter with Induchoodan, and a young woman named Indulekha claims to be Menon’s daughter. Indulekha Kanaka is shaped by manipulation from Manappally’s circle, who want to bend the truth to their advantage, and Menon rejects the allegation, banishing her from the family’s reach.
Circumstances force a reluctant accommodation, and with the encouragement of Manappally Pavithran, Indulekha reluctantly steps forward to reveal her parentage. At first, Induchoodan drives away the protesters, but after learning the truth from his maternal uncle Chandrabhanu Jagathy Sreekumar, he commits to protecting her as a responsible older brother would.
