In a high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat rescue mission, a ruthless gang abducts a girl and snatches several police officers, with Karthik Chinnamalai, Sibiraj, leading the charge to bring them back. A ferocious shootout leaves one gang member dead and Arul Das, a trusted friend of Karthik, dead as well, while Karthik himself is wounded and pushed into a long, painful fight with post-traumatic stress. Enter Subramani, a highly trained military dog who can track culprits and piece together crime scenes with uncanny instinct. After the dog’s army officer owner is killed, Subramani is returned to the officer’s father in Coimbatore, who happens to be a neighbor of Karthik. The neighbor initially refuses to shelter the dog, but a quiet moment of seeing Subramani troubled by the neighborhood children softens his stance, and Karthik ultimately opens his home to the canine companion. A slow-blooming bond forms between man and dog, with Subramani proving to be a loyal ally who quietly changes the course of the pursuit.
Meanwhile, Renuka, Arundhathi Nair, Karthik’s wife, is abducted by Anbu Das, the ruthless head of the kidnapping ring. Renuka is buried alive in a coffin, and a live web camera streams the horrific scene to Karthik. She can breathe for approximately six hours, and with the aid of a deaf and dumb teacher, she manages to convey vital information. Karthik pieces together her messages, deciphering what she’s telling him as rain begins to trickle into the coffin. He, Subramani, and a trusted cop friend race to Ooty—the only place in Tamil Nadu where it’s raining at that moment—hoping the weather will unlock Renuka’s clues and the kidnapper’s motive.
The truth behind Renuka’s kidnapping is brutal: Anbu Das is driven by a desire for vengeance against a man who was not part of his gang, but Arul, who worked as a mole inside the police. In the ensuing confrontation, Karthik is struck with a metal rod and buried in a coffin himself. Subramani, through keen tracking and scent, locates Anbu and his henchmen, but Anbu escapes to a tree house while the henchmen fall to Subramani’s relentless bite. Subramani saves Karthik by digging a risky pit, but the climactic moment comes when Anbu seizes a gun and fatally wounds Subramani. Karthik refuses to surrender, outsmarting and overpowering Anbu in a final, brutal fight.
Before Subramani dies, he marks the exact place where Renuka is buried, guiding Karthik to her location. Karthik reclaims Renuka and brings her back to safety, while Anbu ends up buried alive in the same fate he had planned for others. Subramani’s legacy lives on in a newborn puppy, and Karthik is given one of the litter to raise. The film closes on a hopeful note as Karthik and his new dog, named Chinnamani in Subramani’s memory, stand ready to take on a new case, continuing the dog’s memory and Karthik’s renewed sense of purpose.
