My Bromance

Golf Golf is an 18-year-old high school student whose friends describe him as aggressive, hot-tempered, a bit of a playboy, and prone to foul language. He grows up in a fractured family, often left alone in a semi-detached home, craving affection that his father showers him with in money but not in care or stability.

Everything shifts when Golf’s father brings a woman, Thara, and Bank Bank into the household. Golf quickly learns that Thara will be his new step-mother, and that he now has a step-brother who is only a few months younger than him. Reluctant to accept these changes, Golf begins to ostracize Bank, shutting him out at every opportunity.

To stay close to his new family, Bank asks the school principal to transfer him into Golf’s class. Golf seizes the chance to bully Bank, hoping to push him away. The situation tests their dynamics and draws the attention and concern of their classmates, including Jieb, Paan, Tar, and Tued. This tight-knit group steps in, helping Golf realize that his treatment of Bank is wrong, and their efforts begin to mend the growing rift between them. A slow, uneasy bond begins to form as a mutual respect gradually blooms, hinting at something deeper than rivalry.

Meanwhile, a romance starts to blaze as Thom Thom, a popular school singer, tries to win Bank’s heart by sending lunches, flowers, and even snacks. Thom’s gestures extend further when he buys Bank’s contact details from Tar, knowing Bank’s family is financially strapped. Golf, confronted by what he witnesses, grows increasingly jealous and confronts Bank, prompting Bank to finally share his true feelings for his older brother. In response, Golf makes a heartfelt confession of his own love and gives Bank a couple’s ring that Bank had once aspired to buy.

The relationship destabilizes when Golf’s aunt becomes suspicious and eventually catches the two step-brothers lying together on their way home from a trip. Fearing scandal, Golf’s father calls a family meeting and ultimately sends Golf to America to study, hoping distance will sever their bond. Six months pass before Golf returns home, and Bank welcomes him back with mixed emotions. Bank is surprised to learn that Golf now has a girlfriend, Kaem, whom they had met in America, and to complicate matters further, Golf is preparing to marry Kaem. Bank’s steadfast love remains with Golf, and he even agrees to pursue his own relationship with Thom, though his heart remains devoted to his older brother.

A fateful car accident soon changes everything for both boys. They suffer serious injuries, and doctors must remove one of Bank’s kidneys while Golf’s remaining kidney fails to function well enough on its own. Against his father’s wishes, Golf donates one of his kidneys to Bank, sealing a powerful, painful pact between the brothers: they will never abandon each other.

A year later, on Bank’s 19th birthday, he uncovers a devastating truth. Unaware of Golf’s ongoing struggle, Bank opens a final present containing a letter that reveals Golf’s death from a brain tumor, a condition detected after the crash, and the selfless gift of the kidney that saved Bank’s life. The revelation devastates Bank, but it also solidifies the enduring bond between them. Bank honors his brother’s memory by continuing to paint and collect plastic toy fixtures—the very things that helped define his brother’s own passions—and by visiting the bridge area they had frequented together, a quiet place that holds the memory of their shared love.
