Riley and her father, Chris, arrive at the new school on Riley's first day. Chris starts his role as the school's new English teacher, and during his first lesson, he attracts attention from students including Tricia and Kyla. The day sets the stage for the complex relationships to unfold.

Police arrive as Riley, badly wounded, and Kyla are taken away in separate ambulances. Riley survives the attack, and the traumatic event leaves everyone affected, highlighting the tragic culmination of Kyla’s obsession.

Some time later, Riley is seen leaving for college, saying goodbye to her father. An unseen figure watches them from afar, hinting at lingering danger or unresolved issues from the events.
