A pivotal moment arrives when Dakers performs a life-saving tracheotomy on a child with diphtheria and transports the patient to the cottage hospital, only to face charges of misconduct because the hospital charter bars infectious cases. He stands before a medical tribunal and defends his actions, arguing that saving the child’s life left him no choice.
