Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match

During Christmas in the 1980s, Johnny Cage chases a career-making break with Ninja Mime. Producer Brian Van Jones grows anxious over the disappearance of Jennifer Grey and enlists Cage with his assistant Chuck Golden to find her. They reach Jennifer Grey's mansion, where Ashrah and Kia clash over a mysterious scroll, and their confrontation ends as the mansion is bombed, forcing a rapid escape.

Ashrah and Kia's fight spills onto the highway as Cage hijacks a tour bus to pursue them. The pursuit ends with Kia's death after Ashrah ejects her from her car. Cage then retrieves the scroll from Ashrah with Golden's help.

The scroll is deciphered to reveal a star map of Los Angeles with Greek text on the back. Cage and Golden realize its significance as a gateway to unknown dangers and resolve to dig deeper.

Ashrah returns to the White Lotus Society to report to Lord Raiden, who urges her to enlist Cage's help for the coming battles ahead.

On his way to report findings to the police, Cage is sidetracked by his agent David Doubldy who claims that the Big Man wants to hire him for a superhero film. Doubldy reveals he is a demon and they fight; Cage kills him in self defense. This forces Cage and Golden to take matters into their own hands.

With police refusing to help, Cage and Golden decide to investigate themselves and head to the Magical Mansion, a hidden Hollywood club. Golden deciphers the scroll while Cage attends the party as a guest, hoping to locate clues.

Inside the mansion, Jataaka takes Cage underground, but Ashrah appears and explains that Jataaka and Kia are two of three assassins aligned with the Brotherhood of Shadows. They learn the plan to use the scroll and blood of a god to summon their demon master.

Jataaka and Kia are part of the Brotherhood's plan to use the spell on the scroll and the blood of a god beneath the Oriental Theatre to open a gate to the Netherrealm and summon Shinnok.

Before they can act, Sareena, the third assassin posing as Jennifer, attacks and captures Cage and his allies.

Sareena reveals she is a demon who was cut off from the Netherrealm and was sent to Earthrealm decades ago. She and other demons manipulated Cage's career so that he could be used as a sacrifice to summon Shinnok.

Ashrah and Golden escape their captivity from the director, and Golden learns that Ashrah is a demon formerly affiliated with the Brotherhood who now seeks repentance.

Ashrah and Golden rescue Cage, and Sareena uses his blood to forge a portal to the Netherrealm, bringing Shinnok into Earthrealm.

Cage fights Shinnok in the streets while Golden and Ashrah face off against Jones and Sareena. Golden hurls Jones into the portal, Ashrah kills Sareena, and Cage uses his mystic powers to push Shinnok back through the rift. Golden then casts the spell to seal the portal, cutting off Netherrealm access.

Cage is celebrated as a hero and shares a kiss with Ashrah. Golden begins a stunt doubling path in video games, taking on the Mokap persona. Ashrah leaves to continue her quest to slay demons and become human, while Cage rises to fame thanks to Ninja Mime and its sequels, only to face a later career decline as he prepares to shoot a new film on a remote island.
