Mortal Kombat

The ending of Mortal Kombat revolves around the final battle between Earth’s fighters and the forces of Outworld, led by Shang Tsung. After a fierce fight, the Earth warriors, including Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sonya Blade, Jax, and newcomer Cole Young, manage to unlock their hidden powers, known as “arcana.” These abilities give them the strength to face their enemies more effectively. When they confront Sub-Zero to save Cole’s family, Cole, who discovers he is a descendant of Hanzo Hasashi (aka Scorpion), wields Hanzo’s legendary kunai. This act triggers Hanzo’s resurrection from the nether realms, transforming him into the fiery spirit of Scorpion, driven by vengeance. Together, Cole and Hanzo, as Scorpion, turn the tide of the battle and manage to burn Sub-Zero alive, ending his threat for now.

However, although the fighters succeed in defeating some of their enemies, Shang Tsung escapes, vowing to return with an army to exact revenge. Lord Raiden, the protector of Earth, reassures the fighters that they will be prepared for the next challenge and begins recruiting new fighters, including hints about a future star, Johnny Cage. The ending suggests that the fight isn’t over and future threats loom greater, setting the stage for a potential sequel where the battle for Earth’s survival continues. The film concludes on a note of ongoing conflict and the hope that the Earth realm will be ready for whatever comes next.
