Minions: The Rise of Gru

In 1976, eleven-year-old Gru takes on the leadership role of the Minions, following the events of the original movie. Embracing his new position, he begins to work on his ambitions of becoming a supervillain.

Gru receives an invitation to audition for the notorious criminal organization known as the Vicious 6, led by the super-villain Wild Knuckles. This marks a pivotal opportunity for Gru as he embarks on a journey towards villainy.

After Wild Knuckles successfully steals a magical stone, he is betrayed by the Vicious 6 during his rescue. The gang abandons him, leaving him to face the consequences of his mission alone.

Aspiring to become a member of the Vicious 6, Gru attends an interview, hoping to prove himself. Although the interview ends unsuccessfully for Gru, he manages to snatch a magical stone during the encounter.

In a twist, Gru discovers that Otto, a large Minion, has mistakenly traded the magical stone for a pet rock. Frustrated with the Minions, Gru decides to venture out alone to retrieve the valuable stone back.

Wild Knuckles, thought to be dead, unexpectedly captures Gru after observing him during his escape. This kidnapping orchestrates a new alliance between Gru and the seemingly villainous Knuckles.

The Minions infuriated by the situation, initiate a rescue mission for Gru. They commandeer a plane and set off to San Francisco, determined to reunite with their leader.

At Wild Knuckles' hideout, the Minions face challenges from his henchmen but are assisted by Master Chow, a former Kung Fu teacher. With Chow's guidance, the Minions gain confidence as they prepare for their confrontation.

In a thrilling partnership, Gru and Knuckles successfully execute a heist to steal the Mona Lisa from the Bank of Evil. Their bond deepens as they work together, even as they struggle against the Vicious 6.

During the Chinese New Year parade in Chinatown, a climactic struggle unfolds as the Vicious 6 confront Gru and the Minions. Here, they employ the stone's power, leading to transformative chaos.

As the Vicious 6 transform into animals using the stone's magic, the Minions face off against them. In a daring rescue, Otto manages to free Gru, allowing him to fight back with the stone's power.

As Gru delivers an emotional eulogy at Knuckles' funeral, it is revealed that Knuckles is alive and had faked his death. The scheme unites them once more, setting the stage for their next adventure.

In a delightful mid-credits twist, Gru offers Dr. Nefario a job in recognition of his invention that was pivotal in the heist. Though hesitant at first, Nefario ultimately agrees, marking a fresh start for both.

The film concludes with an uplifting scene of Gru and Knuckles driving off into the sunset, alongside the Minions who have been re-hired for their heroic deeds. This signifies a new chapter in their misadventures together.
