Man with the Screaming Brain

William and Jackie travel to Bulgaria to diversify their company's interests. They are driven to a hotel by Yegor Stragov, a former KGB agent who gives William a ring to give to Jackie. The ring becomes a symbolic thread that ties the ensuing conflicts together.

Back at the hotel, William bumps into Tatoya, a hotel maid and gypsy whose legend says she kills men who date and dump her. The encounter marks the introduction of a dangerous new figure in William's life. Tatoya's charm is juxtaposed with her lethal reputation.

Jackie returns and catches William kissing Tatoya, triggering a blazing argument. She immediately dumps him, and the trust between the couple collapses. Tatoya's involvement becomes a direct threat to their marriage.

Tatoya steals William's money and ring during the ensuing chase around the hotel area. It is revealed the ring originally belonged to Tatoya and had been given to Yegor earlier in their relationship. The revelation deepens the betrayal between the characters.

Tatoya knocks William out with a pipe outside the hotel. Yegor witnesses the assault, and Tatoya then kills him with his own gun. The two deaths pivot the story toward cold-blooded vendetta.

A vengeful Jackie has William's life-support pulled in the hospital. She travels to Gypsy Town to confront Tatoya and seek revenge. In a brutal turn, Tatoya kills Jackie by throwing her down a flight of stairs.

William wakes in a warehouse owned by Dr. Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov and his assistant Pavel. They have removed the damaged brain tissue and replaced it with healthy cells from Yegor. William discovers he is alive and now shares his head with Yegor's brain.

William realizes he can hear Yegor's voice in his head, indicating the two brains now coexist. They begin plotting to get the woman who killed them both. The uneasy alliance turns personal and violent.

Jackie’s brain is transferred into a robot body, enabling her to escape and pursue Tatoya. She joins William and Yegor in their vendetta against Tatoya. The trio forms an unlikely alliance against a common foe.

William and Yegor, alongside Robo-Jackie, pursue Tatoya through town. William crashes his car when his foot gets trapped under a vehicle, and Tatoya tries to finish him by igniting leaking gasoline. Robo-Jackie saves him, but the explosion leaves her presumed dead.

As the chase continues, the cells of William and Yegor begin to fail at coexisting, producing brain damage and instability. They struggle to maintain a single mind while pursuing Tatoya. The internal conflict threatens to derail their mission and their lives.

Tatoya stabs Jackie's brain, causing her to malfunction, and has Jackie thrown off a bridge. The robotic ally is disabled, leaving William to continue the pursuit alone. This marks a crucial setback for the alliance against Tatoya.

William chases Tatoya through the subway construction site and into the sewer system. He defeats Tatoya by dropping her into the sewer river and retrieves the ring. This confrontation ends their direct danger and seals the ring's fate.

William and Jackie declare their love for one another as their brain cells deteriorate. They cling to their bond despite the physical toll of their transformations. The scene underlines the themes of love, loss, and identity.

Pavel brings the trio's bodies back to Dr. Ivanov, who has previously shown he can coax coexistence of William and Yegor's brain cells. William returns to the U.S. six months later, now fully synched with Yegor's brain. He attends a brain trauma benefit with Jackie, whose brain now resides in Tatoya's body.
