Ayesha Saxena, Swara Bhasker, and her husband Uday are a newly settled, deeply bonded couple living in Mumbai. A night of celebration ends in a car crash when another driver careens into their windshield, killing the other person instantly. Weeks pass, and Uday is assigned a project to revive a failing factory in his hometown of Jabalpur. This assignment brings him back to old friendships and childhood memories, with a hope that the change of scenery may help Ayesha recover from the shock of the accident. As they journey north, the couple clings to each other, navigating fear and a quiet determination to rebuild their lives.

Upon arriving in Jabalpur, they are greeted warmly by people who remember Uday from the past. Ayesha begins to set up their new home, planning visits and social events, while strange, almost sentient disturbances begin to surface at the factory. Machines inexplicably move on their own, equipment collapses in jarring bursts, and even the home’s gas range and toaster seem to follow a hidden will. The tension is heightened by a tense dynamic with their neighbors, especially the hot-headed Manohar Gupta, Murali Sharma, and his quietly suffering wife Urmi, Reema Debnath. A weary servant speaks of a local baba who can sense an evil presence at work, and the baba urges an exorcism. Before any ritual can proceed, the spirit grows angrier and retaliates by stabbing the servant and the baba with a deer-head bust, escalating the fear.

Seeing the crisis escalate, Ayesha’s father seeks out Ugr Pratap, believing that his skills—and perhaps his own cursed fate—are the only path to salvation. He travels to Jabalpur to enlist the elusive spirit master’s help, while Uday remains pragmatic, skeptical of supernatural explanations but not willing to ignore the mounting danger.
